Monday 26th October - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Good morning all!

OK, I'm still up and about by 7am but I can just sit and watch the news with a cup of tea, and relax a bit - because I have a week off work!!! :j I feel pretty good knowing that I don't have to leave the house at all today if I don't want to. I may just have a pyjama day...
List for today:
hoover through and clean the bathroom
check banking (payday Friday)
load of washing out to dry on the line
minimise heating use (it's on at the moment but only until the place warms up a bit)
I should really go to my friend's exercise class tonight as I slept through her 6am class
All meals from stores
Aim for nsd
Stop snacking! I'm terrible for doing this if I'm slobbing
unsubscribe from at least 10 emails
relax
By the way, I love sloe gin - send it this way.:p:p:pNot giving up

Morning CCL, and thanks for the start

I've been retired/ pt self employed for more than a year now, and I still get up at 6 most days. Not sure why. I was a bit later this morning - the light woke me up at 5 (which of course is 6 really ) but decided to keep warm in bed for a bit longer, and then dozed till 6.30. I hate all this messing about with the clocks - I remember what a nightmare it was when the children were little
Right, enough moaning, list for today:
Found enough raspberries in the garden to go with my breakfast porridge and yogurt (yum)
Check banks
Clean kitchen floor as it is a bit sticky in places after the sloe gin making session last night
Sort out the brick and glass box at the back of the house which might be called a conservatory if it were posher
It is a dumping ground of wellies, animal food, stuff like GD's pushchair which hasn't really got a proper home, the dog's travelling crate, the BBQ, etc etc. It is a very small room, and full stuff
Take a box of items to sales unit
Take another couple of boxes to the charity shop
Dusting - everywhere! I have old, dark wood furniture, and it is not looking good at the moment
Any surveys and FPL
Postal survey tasks
Washing out on line to dry
HM meals
Heating on only in bathroom and airing cupboard - will try to manage without till it gets dark, and will then light the wood burner. It is ok in here at the moment, though cold outside.
No spends planned for today
Freecycle item being collected this evening (I hope!)
OK, I had better get on. Hope everyone has a good day

Dawn you are right this clock going back malarky has messed up dgd's sleep pattern. she's been up at 6 both days so far. It took ages to get her sleep extended to 7 after a lifetime (hers

Plans for today:

* an hour in the garden. Must do this as didn't do any over the weekend and time is marching on
* take dgd to the park for free exercise later
* think I will do pasta collage with dgd this morning. She loves gluing!
Ok that's all I can think of right now - at the first cup of coffee of the day. /sure there will be more when I wake up!DF as at 30/12/16

Morning Campers,
Well, so far I've pegged the laundry outside to dry - did cheap overnight wash. I've tidied the kitchen & put the bread maker on for a loaf. Today, I simply HAVE to tackle the pears because it's pretty much the last of them, so they will go off if I don't get them used. Haven't quite decided what to do with them yet, & have lots of other kitchen/cooking jobs to do too, today. Think the best thing is for me to wish everyone a nice day, really crack on here, then aim to post later with a list of what I actually achieved. Am conscious that it's a waste of food if I don't use up our pears, they are a free resource, I do value our lovely crop each year, so I must have a Pear Day today.
Hopefully talk to you later,

2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -

ATTN ALL CRAFTERS
Mind are having a fundraising Christmas "crafternoon". LINK
I know that it's a charity that we've often mentioned on the thread and that we have several crafters among us and people who are wishing to raise awareness of MH issues.
It may be something that people wish to get involved with. I'm going to organise one at workLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Morning all!
Foxgloves is having a pear day - I am having a green tomato chutney day! (Or I will be once I've been & picked them).
When I walked the dog this morning, I came across a dead bird that I've not seen before. It was the size & shape of a wood pigeon, but with green legs & beak. The body was dark grey except for a white patch on it's tail. Any bird watchers among you? I've just sent a photo of it to Autumnwatch, as I've looked through our numerous bird books with no luck.
One lot of washing is on the line and the 2nd lot is nearly ready.
Breakfast was porridge with grated apple stirred into it. I've a glut of apples to use & this got rid of one.
OH had emptied a box of cereal, so the inner packet has been washed & is drying, ready to be used for a sandwich wrapper.
A friend has asked me to call in & collect some knitting magazines that she's finished with, and I've promised a recipe to another friend so I will walk to both before I make a start on the chutney. I need coffee first!
