TalkTalk - cyber-attack - Grounds for canceling contract?

No they don't and was never needed with LLU providers anyway.
Ah. Looks like Sky can simply take over the line.
Possibly followed by a big bill from TalkTalk and trashing of the ex-customer's credit files if it's not paid.0 -

Does this mean TalkTalk has agreed to allow you to end the contract ten months early?
Or is there a chance Sky will simply install (via Openreach) a new phone line with broadband, meaning that you'll have two accounts (one with TalkTalk and one with Sky) running? This appears to be what the TalkTalk rep was suggesting would happen.
Do punters still need to obtain a MAC to move from one broadband provider to another? I haven't switched for nine years.
No need to get a MAC, the provider you are moving to will handle it, the rules changed.

I was told by the provider I am switching to that TT will tell you your phone number will have to change, but you won't have to change, the link below says that too.

Otherwise, top tip.. make sure you use an email address independent of your ISP, that way you shouldn't have to switch it if you change ISP. You could use Hotmail, gmail or outlook, I think they are all free. In my own case I own a whole domain, lets call it mydomain.me for the sake of illustration so if I sign up for a service I give a specific address, e.g. someservice@mydomain.me, that way I might be able to track down the source of a data leak from to the naughty company.0
