Hello,
I'e recently moved (well a month ago) and before I moved I checked the cheapest price for broadband and phone, long story short the Post Office was the cheapest and I thought as they are a reputable (haha) brand I would go with them.
I had the phone put on last Thursday and was told it would take 5 working days (basically a week) until my internet would go live. I phoned yesterday and they said it would go on yesterday (it didn't). Phoned today and was on the phone for over 30 mins and was told that my go live date was tomorrow!!
I told him to go and flick the switch and put my internet on to which he said no it doesn't work like that. After going round in circles for ages I decided to give up as I had better things to do.
Anyway the internet is now on!
I was wondering if anyone else has had the same with the PO and which would be my best route of complaining?
TIA xx

There is unlikely to be any difference in ADSL speed , whoever is your provider and getting the max speed is very, very rare.0 -

It is always UP TO but you should have been given a realistic estimate. What was it?Hubby not happy as he can't play online on PS4, told him it is the trouble living in the middle of nowhere. Don't think I'm gonna hear the end of it though!!
How far are you from the exchange and nearest cabinet? That's what will determine your connection speed. There is unlikely to be any difference in ADSL speed , whoever is your provider and getting the max speed is very, very rare.
There can be differences in ADSL depending on who the provider is. Some exchanges are still on 20CN with speeds only up to 8mb. If there happens to be an LLU provider in the exchange it's possible to get higher with that provider than a non-LLU provider as they usually have updated equipment.
Sounds like that won't help the OP anyway as TalkTalk is an LLU provider.0
