Let me just correct that

    Stick it on Ebay.

    Or sue them in court.

    Those are your options really.
  • All sorted.

They have agreed to pay the full agreed upon sum.

Let me guess. When they agreed they said one of:

As a gesture of good will...
    On this occasion...
    As a one off...

    As opposed to the appropriate:

We attempted to con you because we made a mistake...

To be fair there was only 1 "I have in this instance" and one "In light of your comments"

Just a shame that it had to take me sending a letter from a solicitor rather than them just admitting they got it wrong and doing the right thing.

All sorted now though so :j

I was recently looking for to sell my BMW 1 Series. I visited few car buying sites including webuyanycar, we want any car , we buy cars today and many other small companies. I received different offers which are
    Webuyanycar: £6685.
    We want any car: £6920.
    We Buy Cars Today: £7155.
For we buy any car and we want any car, I booked an appointment on the website and have to drive to them. There was no other way of selling they also charge £75 admin fee as written on their site.
Whereas, webuycarstoday soon after my quote they called me on my mobile to discuss sale of my car, I was surprise to be honest. As I was not expecting any person to call me, She explained me, they drive out to client to pick up the car and no admin fee whatsoever. Payment will be made in 10 minutes after the sale.
Discussed the condition of car how it can affect the price of my car. As they were offering more and I was not taking off from my work. So I feel bit more secure about that, I paid £34.99 appointment fee and they came to my work place. I sold my car to them got the payment however, they reduce my price by £200 as there were few scratches on passenger door.
In nutshell, I am quite happy with their process no risk and no hassle of going and wasting time and end up with too much reduction of price with other.

    Hi everyone,

Looking for some help in an issue I have with webuyanycar.com and their refusal to pay for a vehicle I sold them - £6800 worth!

I visited one of their branches on Saturday 17th October and once the car and documents had been checked we agreed to a sale. They have had the car since then and despite me paying an extra fee (taken from the sale price) for next business day funds transfer, I haven't received the money.

This is where I am up against a massive issue.

During the sale negotiation, I made it clear that I had only had the car for just short of three weeks and obtained it by means of a private transaction. This was accepted by the rep in the branch and also two managers who had to provide a special code for him to use on the computer system which allowed him to conclude the paperwork.

We both signed the contract and I handed over the keys, logbook and all other paperwork.

After much chasing today, I have received an email worded as below (apologies for the length).

    *************************************************************

    Dear Mr xxx,

I am writing to you in respect of the above vehicle which you presented for sale at our Sheffield branch on the 17th October 2015.

As you are aware we have withdrawn our offer to purchase th vehicle. Under section 3.3b we requested an appropriate proof of purchase;-

3.3 when a contract is made, we will expect you to hand us:
    b. the vehicle's registration document (together with appropriate proof of purchase if requested by us)

As you have been in possession of the vehicle for a relatively short period of time, it is reasonable that our firm makes enquiries to confirm the history of this vehicle. I understand that you have not been able to produce a proof of purchase for this vehicle from a recognised dealership.

    As you have not produce the requested documentation, we therefore enforece section 3.4 of our standard terms and conditions;

    3.4

In the event that you fail to comply with 3.3 above, we reserve the right to withdraw any offer to buy the car with immediate effect; and/or to rescind any contract with immediate effect.

The company's decision in this matter is final. If you have any comments you wish to make regarding this decision, you are welcome to email us at talktousnow@webuyanycar.com, quoting the reference at the top of this letter.

We will make the vehicle available for collection from our Sheffield branch who can be contacted on 01143 212402 to arrange a suitable time to collect the vehicle. You will receive back all keys and documents that you presented at your earlier visit. We will also make a payment of £25.00 in respect of a replacement V5 document that you may have cause to request directly from the DVLA.

Alternative, if you do not wish to wait for the vehicle to be moved back to Sheffield, you can collect it from British Car Auctions. Please can you advise us as your preference.

I trust this clearly states our position.

    Yours Faithfully

    James Bernard

Do I have any recourse here? Can I demand that they pay me the money?

    Help!

    Thanks

The OP has already confirmed that if you read the thread.

There were no significant faults, it had a major service within the last 300 miles. It needs to be sold as now unemployed with no savings. Yes, could have got more selling private but WBAC shout about how easy and quick their service is and how quickly you can have the money.

So in your opinion there were no significant faults?

So what were the actual faults.

As clearly there is a reason why WBAC have backed out on the deal

I sold them a V50 and they didn't spot the small dent on the top of the tailgate caused by a bike and they also didn't spot that the heater fan was broken.

    But they still paid me.

Why not just sell it to WeWantAnyCar then. They pay more anyway.

I'm not sure why you've wasted your time posting this and our time reading it, see post #35.
  • This is the exact same thing thats happening to us right now. but for £28,000.00
I was literally thrown out of WE BUY ANY CAR MACCLESFIELD yesterday as the guy who agreed to buy my car a week ago, tells me he has nothing to say to me, they now have my car and my money, they have changed ownership of it and they tell me my car is already at auction.
My lawyer has told me there is nothing in the contract to say they can do this
DO NOT USE WE BUY ANY CAR
