Picture 10 might explain some of the price difference. My eyes are still hurting.
But look at the bright side. You could buy it for £190k, change the wall paper & it would be worth £40k more than you paid for it!Mortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
Cashback sites: £900 | £30k in 2016: £30,300 (101%)0 -
Might be worth watching that listing to see how quick it sells...maybe even phone for a viewing & ask if they've had much interest
Judging by PropertyBee data, it's been on the market since just after Christmas 2014, if not longer (first price data entry is 16/10/2014).
Nothing else to add that previous posters haven't already said. I'd be looking into ways to stay in the house (since selling, especially at a break-even point never mind profit, seems unlikely).0 -
This house is within 0.5 miles from your house & looks the same: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-40958038.html
The kitchen might not be as nice as yours but it's fine and the price is £50k lower. Why would anyone choose your house over that?
I think you overpaid (especially since it was listed at £180k...) if they're asking for £190k with no redecorating required post-boundary change. Most likely you're gonna have to sell at £190-200k and accept the loss or send her to another school. Might be worth watching that listing to see how quick it sells...maybe even phone for a viewing & ask if they've had much interest
Worth noting that, even though cheaper, that one has been on the market since September 2013...0 -
Unless, of course, that's the good school the OP wants for her kid....0

Cheap houses sell quickly in my area, but when someone buys one and does it up then put back on market, they don't seem to sell well.
Also don't you just hate EAs who put dodgy wonky photos up and miss out rooms.

The OP's house backs onto a park so it has better views, maybe direct access for the owners' children/dog walking and it will be a lot more peaceful.
....and more right of access for all manor of random strangers to be close by too - not to mention the yoofs hanging about doing who knows what very un-peacefully in a public place.0 -
It all due to the order of the pictures…honest.0

I think it's a stunning house. Can't even believe people are comparing it to that other house...
However I would imagine the issue is the size vs number of toilets/bathrooms. Newer homes have an en-suite on every floor or attached to every bathroom.
I lived with a house with 5 bedrooms and 4 toilets until recently. That's apparently the new expectation! I have 3 bed & 1 bath now... :rotfl:0 -
It seems very overpriced and I didn't view any house with a single toilet, it was high on my list. I prefer Freeholds but I'm not worried by a lease because I would attempt to buy the Freehold - if the price was right.it might not be what you want to hear but a price jump like yours from what you paid and in such a short (relative) time seems unreasonable. I wish you luck with things anyway.0
