you make trolling seem almost a harmless pastime in comparison....Be decent for a change....
Unnecessary and seemingly provocative comments.
The post you refer to should actually help those ignorant of the fact that deleting old posts to avoid them being seen by anyone just doesn't meet it's objective (and then posting that you have done so will only encourage the "prying Eyes" to have a gander at the cache!)0 -
These parasites have sent me another letter "without prejudice" offer of £60 to settle.....I'm thinking of offering £15 for the fees they've paid to lodge the claim. I've had some advice but would appreciate some of yours......
I don't want to pay these f@$kers anything but feel fair is fair and they have paid something. Is £15 what they've paid?
Many thanks0 -
Hmm.. does this suggest that they know they are on a loser, especially as they may now know that the hotel wants to cancel the charge?0

Why is it 'fair' to pay them something which they have self-inflicted upon themselves. Did you ask them to start spending their money in an attempt to gain further monies from your good self - No ! They have taken a punt, a gamble on making a profit out of you so stop making it easy for them.....
If you called into a Solicitors for advice on this matter, would the PPC deem it 'fair' to recompense you for your outgoings - I think not.
All's 'fair' in love and war !0 -
Yotman and catfunt I like how you put it.....I haven't replied to their letter.....is it worth replying or what ya reckon?0

No-one can safely predict how they will act, but they have had plenty of time to proceed since being notified by the court that it was a defended claim, and it seems they haven't done anything about paying for a hearing to progress the matter.
They clearly aren't feeling sure of winning! Otherwise who would accept £60 when they originally felt they had such a good case to issue a claim for £200?0 -
The £60 offer is a standard PE ploy - usually at a point where they are looking to draw stumps or, occasionally, when they are anxious to portray a degree of magnanimity just before they issue proceedings - or in this case pay the hearing fee.No-one can safely predict how they will act, but they have had plenty of time to proceed since being notified by the court that it was a defended claim, and it seems they haven't done anything about paying for a hearing to progress the matter.

You choice OP. Pay the £60 now or wait and see if PE pay up and obtain summary judgment for the full amount. No one is going to think any the less of you for taking the offer and doing so implies no guilt. Businesses take such decisions everyday. Its simple pragmatism.
@Quentin. PPC's issuing proceedings rarely has anything to do with the quality or otherwise of their case. Its a simple numbers game and is often decided on who blinks first. I suggest that your assessment though sound is a little too simplistic. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Low and behold this case has reared it's ugly head again and they wish to proceed. I am leaving the country next month, will a hearing be that soon? What are the chances of this coming back to haunt me if I come back? Apparently the fact that the hotel manager wanted to cancel wasn't enough leverage!
Any advice much appreciated

A hearing will be months away rather than 5/6 weeks.0

Thanks. Shall I send parking eye/courts a forwarding address?0
