I've only ever bought the bargain cases and often have bottles worth more than £5 in them. And some people have even had the odd really expensive "fine wine".

Others wait for the standard cases as they don't want to chance getting any not so good bottles which I have also had I the bargain ones but not a problem for me as Mr TS is not too fussy.

It was me that had a couple of oyster bays and these were from the cheaper boxes - I had 2 codes saved (I think I found them on a mse discount code thread) so it cost me £80 for 24 bottles :)
These are all for home consumption - never get invited anywhere posh to take wine with us :)
Some of the tops look marked so these might have to consumed shortly!

The wines we used to get on offer for £3 a bootle with the various taxes are now selling for between £5 and £8 a bottle so these now are the normal drinking wines.
Anything over £10 I might hang onto.

Just got back from being out so I will be back later when I have re organised the house again and made a list :)

Thanks for the replies, I will take a punt on the cheaper boxes if I ever see them in stock :beer:

Anyone had a good result with the alpen\rocky bars yet?
Saw on a SW FB page that some had got them in T's and they compared but they seem terribly confused with all this PP and APG stuff, so don't know how accurate their info is lol.
Havent heard any positive results re getting them from A's APG yet.

ETA that's for the Alpens. Don't know about Rocky Bars

    In other news.
OH & I got our shavers today too :) Thanks to OP

Here's a potential handwash glitch for any of those amongst us who don't have enough already..:rotfl:

There are three different Sanex handwashes in a 3 for £3 offer in A. They are in the same offer as the travel size toiletries.

I have been racking my brains trying to remember the old triggers from months ago but unfortunately I am getting on a bit so didn't have a hope..:rotfl:

Anyway, instore yesterday I found what I think might be a trigger. I can't find it on A.com or msm so fingers crossed one of these will force the 2 x Sanex to compare £5 to £2.50, returning £2.75 on a £3 spend A v T.

All three flavours of Sanex should work A v T.

Unfortunately I could only find one solitary bottle in my store so couldn't test this..:o

    It worked:D

    1x Sanex Zero% Mild Hygienic Hand Wash (300ML) £2.50 £1.25
    1x Sanex Hygiene Protector Mild & Hygienic Hand Wash (300ML) £2.49 £1.25
0.15x ASDA Loose Banana (order by number of bananas or select kg) (PER KG) £0.10 £0.10
    1x Giant Strawberry Stripes (1PK) £0.10 £0.10
    1x Haribo Starmix (1PK) £0.10 £0.10
0.12x ASDA Loose Carrot (order by number of carrots or select kg) (PER KG) £0.09 £0.07
    1x ASDA Chinese Takeaway Prawn Crackers (40G) £0.50 £0.30
    1x MAOAM Sour Giant Stripes Cola & Lemon Flavour (1PK) £0.10 £0.10
1x ASDA Grower's Selection British Salad Cress (EACH) £0.24 £0.24
    1x ASDA Grower's Selection Cauliflower (EACH) £1.00 £0.69
Comparison total (compared products only) £7.22 £4.20

    A v T

Prawn crackers have gone up in price in tosco

And returning to the vexed discussion on Sainsburys basic items from earlier on.

On Sainsburys mycoupons today my offers include buy 3 cans do bad ic peach slices get 40 nectar points - these seem to be 35p in Sainsburys and everywhere else - so £1.05 for 40 nectar - not too bad and I can use them in smoothies
Also buy 2 sets of basic fromage frais and get 40 nectar. These are 50p each - I think these are cheaper elsewhere but the nectar bonus makes it worthwhile - and these will go with the canned peaches :)

They are definitely cheaper elsewhere - they almost always are. I think the only items that are same price at Sains and elsewhere are the three or so that I have on Avs S list (I probably forget how many there are and it's more than that - but almost certainly only slightly more) plus the Basics 4 pack frozen Chicken Pies (£1.00 at S and T) - though I had one of mine the other night - we alternate between S and T as same price - and I even thought there seemed to be less chicken in the Sains one:mad:. I'm sure they were at one point same price on the Variety Biscuits but I note msm now suggests S are 700g:( (£1) whereas T are £1.29 but 900g:). Unless I got shortchanged at S on my Variety Biscuits a year ago:mad::rotfl:. I certainly got shortchanged, in my view, on the Rubber Gloves - it turned out the S pack at 30p (which had already crept up from 24p) has just two gloves in the pack:( (one pair) whereas 'everywhere else' is 4 gloves. In effect, 60p at S for four (you'd have to buy two of their packs) but 46p elsewhere. (Sadly I think this was one item that stopped comparing against S on the 'new' APG?)

There may be some more Basics item, of items that are higher priced, that are same price in S but I'm not fully aware of those at the moment.

As you indicate, the Nectar points are absolutely necessary here - without them, S would be net. more expensive. Don't assume that you can get £1.05 though - I "bought" some T CC points by a preorder at £5 for £5 worth (not very happy in the first place but did it reluctantly:() - wanting to quintuple them up but that offer has still never come around:mad:, so my points are only "worth" 4 times as much (assuming that keeps going) - and they've had my £5 for about two years. It's also largely that all the days out places within reasonable travelling distance have now been visited by us - so any farther would be adding travel costs that we wouldn't otherwise spend. And points can only be redeemed once you hit an exact redeemable amount (it's those few points that exceed that amount that keep you locked into the schemes:().

As for the supposed "vexed" discussion about Sains, I don't think it's "vexed" at all. There is no possible dispute arguable that they are not more expensive and no-one in right mind could ever argue truthfully that they were not. It's therefore a clear, indisputable discussion in which only one view is reasonably possible and any other view would be so far wrong and so irrational that it amounts to being deviant and therefore to be ruled out as completely invalid. Some opinions do not hold water and should be disregarded. There's no dispute reasonably possible at all. IMO (as everything is always still opinion:rotfl:). Could anyone argue the contrary though with any shred of validity? It is simply not possible to argue that Rice Pudding, at Basics level, at S is not currently more expensive than SP at A, Eday at T and Savers at M. It is a fact not a matter of opinion. 30p is more expensive than 15p! And no-one can argue a contrary position and be right. So, it's a matter that is beyond dispute and therefore has no "vexed" part to it whatsoever! (Of course it's "possible" to argue it - as of course it's possible to argue anything - but such an argument, that 30p is not more expensive than 15p, would simply be completely unreasonable, incorrect and entirely invalid: I hope 100% of readers can at least agree with me on this point:rotfl:. It's therefore not a matter that is up for debate or discussion and, in my view, therefore not "vexed".)
