    It does make it more questionable and I can't find anything specified in SOGA so it is really down to the advice of what consumer direct say in this specific case. It apparently isn't a ringbound glossy manual we're talking about so sounds to me like the ASDA staff were being deliberately obtuse to refuse on those grounds.

    I would have thought that if the item was faulty then the instructions wouldn't really be an issue as they wouldn't be returning the freeview box back to stock and reselling them. I think the customer service woman was just being pedantic.

    But if the instruction manual was missing, they could refuse the refund on the grounds that it was returned incomplete.

    But they should have refunded without creating a big fuss.

    i would say the instructions are like packaging in as much as its a disposable item.
    they are not going to resell the item so resaleable condition doesnt apply.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    I spoke to the store manager who agreed I should have been offered a full refund in the first place, she said all that the instructions were not important but they did need the remote and scart to be returned with it.

    all she had to do was remove the instructions from the replacement not exactly rocket science! i dont shop at asda i find the service/fresh food quality incredible bad.:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
