What's your aqua credit limit?

sarahlou,
Ive always paid mine off in full every month since I got the card, but do use it a lot due to having the cash back card and in the early days when the limit was low for my needs would often make a large number of payments to allow me to continue to use it.
I had about 2 years of other credit builder cards before I got the aqua card, had been refused a number of times before, I did have terrible credit rating and I mean terrible but if anything Im proof that if you continue to work at it, clean your files up after bankruptcy and rebuild your rating you can eventually get mainstream, I now have a halifax, MBNA and Nationwide card.
Ive spent over 10,000 with it.

Would you say this is a difficult card to get as I tried for it and got declined even though there is nothing bad on my credit files except maybe a few too many credit searches, would that kill it?.
Not difficult at all, my credit file is rubbish I think I had 6 defaults at the time I got my Aqua card. Maybe it is the searches that have affected you.

I do keep checking the eligibility checker but it just seems to be broke for me never really seems to change percentage everything seems very like around 20%, seems crazy to hear people getting accepted for a Aqua card with defaults and I have none and got a straight decline.0

Instead of moaning about the same thing in different threads, perhaps stop applying for lots of credit and give your credit files a break for at least 6 months. You’ve even admitted yourself that you have had lots of searches, so rather than continuing to appear so desperate for credit to lenders, chill out; it’s not a race.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I wasn't moaning as such was just basically saying that everyone seems to be being accepted for this card but not me who has a better credit file, but like I said it's probably the searches knocking me back.0

I think in previous threads you stated that you have only just added yourself on to the electoral roll. This might be why this keeps happening to you. If you have applied for credit without being on roll then this would have a negative impact on application results as well not just defaults.
I have had my Aqua since February with a starting limit of 900, was increased in July to £1200. Now been accepted for prime cards so has helped my credit file no end. Will still keep with Aqua for foreign spends.0 -
Been on the electoral roll since august now, but I think I did apply for the aqua card when I wasn't on it or when I had only just been put on it, I think the fact I've not been on it long and the searches are what is killing my acceptance rate at the moment.0

Anyone know who they search? After being declined for everything (including them a few months back after referral to some 'picture quiz' game (behaviour scoring!)) I've tried Aqua Start and got 'subject to final checks, we'll offer you:' 69.9% (which is their highest APR).
Really hoping I get it, my Equifax is almost clear (Halifax & Bank of Scotland BOTH gave me compo for messing up, but STILL haven't fixed it!!!!). Capquest seem to have returned, again, and promised to clear markers, but haven't.
Experian is the worst - the company that took out a CCJ on me (few months before bankruptcy) still have the account as active, defaulted and owing £4k with it rising rapdily every month due to interest & charges. I presume that's why Nationwide declined me, as they searched Experian.
Noddle is identical info to Equifax - so I'm hoping Aqua search EQ/CC, and give me the lowest £100 limit for now to get me in the door.
I'm hoping it will rapidly rise because of my new salary (high management) and file (eventually!) being sorted. I just want to make a start - so frustrating!0 -

I have an Aqua Advance in its fourth year at 19.94% APR and £7,500 limit. I started with 34.94% APR and £250 limit.0
