When I applied for Aqua.....they only searched Experian only.
Thank god, as that's the only one with up to date info for me.

Just got a letter 6 months after use of the Aqua Reward offering an increase from £600 to £1600.

Was a bit shocked as I max mine out every month and my CCJ doesn't drop off until late 2017.
  • That my plan out the window then, assuming it'll decline when someone looks at my file! At least I've been offered a (provisional) rate this time I guess.... small steps!

That's quite a rise, but assuming your CCJ is only thing on your file, you have a lot to 'lose' by messing around - less than 2 years away from being clear, you'd massively put yourself back to get fresh late/default markers etc. Even mortgages don't mind too much if a 36month+ CCJ is on file

I'm amazed by that £7,500 limit, I thought they'd only go up to say £4k or £5k absolute max!

How are they for upgrading between the products (or opening additional cards....). If (big if!) I get this Start card I'd like to think I'd move to the cashback one soon

As far as Aqua is concerned £7500 is not a lot. If you expect to be on sub-prime cards for a few years the Aqua Advance is a good deal. But miss a payment or pay late or go over limit and you lose it and go back to full interest.

I have heard that Aqua will cancel a card if it's fully paid and open a new one. For example you have the reward card and want an Advance card.

I've had the Aqua Advance for just over 2 years now. I'm at 24.9% and £3900 limit.

started at 34.9% and £250 limit.

You just need to set up a DD for the minimum every month so that you don't lose the lower rate if you forget to pay it off!

Have you tried Capital One they seem to give anyone credit? The rate is bad 34.9% but better than Aqua Start! If you pay in full every moth rate doesn't matter!

They were a creditor in my bankruptcy (as were Aqua).

As soon as I fill in my details in the pre-app check it instant declines within 1-2 seconds, doesn't even seem to take long enough to pull my credit file - think I'm on a blacklist with them for the time being at least.

Hoping & praying for Aqua! now, and I'll appeal it if it declines, as my file should be updated by then.
