within 24 hours, you'll get charged, and a confirmation email through, there is nothing to pay at the hotel when you check in

    $1126 it worked out at

if your exchange rate of 1.92 is correct - makes it £586

Hope that's correct as i've stupidly paid for it with £600 in my account.

edit: payment has been taken and it's left £6.97 in my account - skin of my teeth haha

    Correct! 6 nights in March.

    Thanks for your help.

Looking forward to it mate. 1st Visit! Will probably bug you for more help nearer the time but going to plan a few bits early.

Wanting to see the Knicks on the Sunday - They are home to the Atlanta Hawks at Madison Square Garden.

Obviously Empire State, Times Square, Central Park.

Assume it's just a case of getting a pass of some sort to hop on the subway (10 minutes to times square? or express train or whatever it is)

    Anyway, thanks again.

    dobbadobbs...

i'd suggest getting a nationwide current account, which you can use to purchase things at the better rate of exchange, (aka no exchange rate loading!) as for the knicks.. i went once to see a game, mainly because the NHL were on strike that year.. and it was alright.. but NHL is so much more fun!!!!! book through ticketmaster.com and do willcall and you'll collect your tickets before you go..

don't bother with empire state, do rockafeller instead much bigger on top, and better photos (as you get the empire state in your photos!)

when you get to the subway station, you want to get a week metrocard, things are looking like the price will increase, so it'll be $25 per person, for a whole week... (its going up by $1), then you'll get the express train up to midtown, and start walking!!!! the subway is right outside the hotel!!

  • We stayed there about 8 years ago and as it was our first trip to NY it is really well situated and we could see the times square building with the rising ball from our room. Quite a generic place, but the rooms were quite big for NY, and there was a great sports bar across the road who gave us free drinks on Christmas day!
    Enjoy.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........
