This is just an observation..
People.. PLEASE PLEASE SEARCH THIS THREAD.. there are 92 pages worth of information, but the past 3 - 4 pages seem to be everyone asking about the sign in times square where you put your name on it (already been discussed), and nintendo DS's which has cropped up at least 4 - 5 times already!
as for Knicks tickets, once or twice... (answer - try ticketmaster and choose willcall, actually don't bother the knicks are a bit crap!)
and for radio city... doubful...
as for that website that no one replied to... well i'd think no one has heard of it..
ok... back into order please.. search thread before posting.. it'll make everyones life easier..

thats all doable but very crammed i would say to much quantity and not quality i would start out a enjoyable day reasonably early and enjoy it at a pace you will remember.
We planned top of the rock about one hour from bottom back to bottom. We enjoyed our stay we waited for sun set after about two hours and then enjoyed the onset of darkness about 4 memory fueled hours soaking in the views:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
Hi
I'm going to New York in th beginning December for 5 nights. Whilst we were there, we were thinking of going to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Does anyone know if it is better/ cheaper to buy tickets before we go or when we get there?
We were in New York last year between the 12 & 17th of December. The queues for the Christmas Show at Radio City were enormous but as everyone was raving about it, we decided to wait 'in line' for some tickets. We must have waited in excess of 1 hour only to be informed that they only had $250 tickets left. Despite really wanting to see the show, there was no way that we would pay this amount. So if I was you, I would certainly look into buying them before you go and picking them up at the ticket office on the day. If you do this, you will need to show the Credit/debit card you paid with and some other identification. There are some 4 or 5 shows a day so you should end up with something. Also about this time last year, they were doing 2 4 1 but I keep checking on Trip Advisor and www.radiocity.com and theres nothing showing so perhaps ticket sales are better this year than last. Hope this helps. Sally0 -
Hi All,
Not sure if anyone is eligible but I've just had an email from STA travel about cheap NY flights (prices fr £149), you have to call and book but the info is here:
http://www.statravel.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/uk_division_web_live/hs.xsl/20602.htm
I've already booked my flights but I'm guessing you have to be a student or under 26...
Enjoy!0 -

Hi All. I've got a evening, a full day and a morning/afternoon in NY, was going to try do most touristy things on my full day.
I'm not normally one for guided tours, prefer to sort of look around by myself but been looking at the gray line, thought it might be better to try fit everything in rather than spending a while walking up and down Manhattan.
I see they are down the "classic tour" which is valid for 48 hours, does anyone know if that basically means 2 full days or could I use it form say 6pm to 6pm 2 days later?
Also it says now including a free buffet at Marriott Marquis so thought sounds a good deal.
Or should I just walk around myself?
Cheers folks0 -
We are arriving on a sunday at JFK, my question is about how long will it take to get through the airport (landing to getting outside) as i need a time for the car pickup service. Cheers0

I think you should just do it by yourself. If it was a non English speaking country I'd go for the tour, but it's easy to find your way round New York, and feels far more hmmm, (what's the word?) authentic when you navigate yourself around. Just get a map, work out where you want to go, because you won't be able to see everything, and some things are easily missed out (eg South Street Seaport is quite crap in my opinion).0 -
hi can anyone reccomend the best method for my son to take his money to NY he'll only be 17 when he travels so I don't know whether he'd be able to use travellers cheques ?Merry Christmas MSE!0
