I just paid another £520 off the hulifax card. I gave them a call to check when the interest free period ends...one had ended this week!
Hence I paid the whole of that "part" of the balance. The remaining £1880 I have until next August to repay, phew!!!
Managed to lock myself out of vrgin so might have to give them a ring.
I know these many posts are not exactly thrilling but it's helping me! I'm full of cold (no change there) still in jamas with the heating on, classic Man vs Food on the telly and I am quite happy:pJan 20 - NST challenge

I have to repay £1880 by aug 17 to hulifax cc. Nov-July is 9 months, so that's £208 per month, although I already pay £23 per month so it's an extra payment of £185 per month. Or I could pay an extra £350 per month and finish it by March. But that seems too steep and I really wanted to slow my repayments a bit.
I think vrgin is 0% until Oct 18 so that can tick over for now at £33 a month until Aug 17.
I think that it would be good to start "squirrelling" bits of money away for smaller things, for instance my home insurance, rainy day fund, holidays..... now I have a load of accounts it should be easy (as long as I remember what they are all for) Ena I think you mentioned you do this. Every so often I like to blow a chunk of cash on new clothes, it's always a big spend on a "new wardrobe" for summer/winter so I may as well set a bit aside for that. Will have a think and update in a bit
So if I have 2000 - 1370 per month leaves £630
Of that I will pay £260 extra per month to hulifax.
£10 to the "house insurance" pot
£20 to the rdf (plus any extra earnings from the web)
£20 to the "holiday" fund
£20 to the "new clothes" fund
That leaves £300 per month for food, shopping, entertainments and toiletries. New job is in a different area which has lots of £shops so it should be much easier to pick up cheap bits as and when. This should be plenty and so I would like to see if I can budget properly and maybe have money left at the end of the month???Jan 20 - NST challenge

Due to my many, many bank accounts I should now be able to have a separate account for everything. I'll set up the SO's to move the money just after payday (the luxury of being paid on the 15th)
:cool:FD- my "current account" leave £300 spends in
Saver 1) bday and xmas £140 per month
Reg saver 2) Hair £70 per month
(These are the ones I access the most to "pay myself back" to my current acct so makes sense that they are FD)
;)Hfax
Current account - RDF plus home insurance saver £30 per month
Saver acct- Holiday fund £20 per month
:)Co op current acct- bills and contact lenses
(just applied for an online saver) new clothes saver £20 per monthJan 20 - NST challenge

Yay you're back :T
You sound like you're getting very organised, you know what to do, sometimes it is just doing it. Paying back debt can be a bit dull so would you do any of the challenges?
Haha yep I do have lots of savings accounts and I do squirrel it away. It seems to work very well and it honestly starts to build up quite quickly. Check post 630 on my thread where I list everythingEverything I can think of gets saved for every month. Even £1.34 towards my magazine subscription :rotfl: But when the time comes for it to be paid, I feel a bit smug that the money is ready and waiting
Even though I use YNAB, I don't think I could cope seeing one big savings pot. I'd just think, wahey, book a Caribbean cruise! So having small pots brings me back down to earth, even though I know if I add it all up, it's a nice chunk of dosh.
And even if you don't quite reach your targets for let's say your house insurance, it's still X amount towards it that you don't have to find out of that months budget. Then the following year, when you do reach your savings target, you can feel super smug :rotfl:;)

It's xxxxxxxxxxxxmmmmaaaasssss deal time.
I just got the m and s £35 advent calendar, so here is how I stacked my deal....
Calendar worth £250 of beauty products, for £35 if you spend £35 on other beauty, clothes etc. Bought a few 3 for 2 gifts plus another gift I needed from there. Spent £73, went via swaggy link so got 220 sb plus will get over 2000sb from the link. Paid with my dibs card so get points for that too.
Goods worth £295, spent 73 should reduce to about £60

I recently lost my contact, ess card. I cancelled it within hours, but I saw 4 small transactions go through all at the same shop not too far from this area. I didn't think it was worth reporting and had accepted that I'd lost about £18. Anyway the bank called yesterday, there were two more transactions that went through and the total value was now £36. The fraud team refunded the full £36 to me. It seems whoever had my card was making increasingly bigger spends (all on one day in the same shop?!) and it alerted fraud.
So thank you very much FD:beer:
Used the nect@r double up to get two toys for kid's xmas gifts, plus also got a bottle of fizz for new years
This weekend I will be finishing the xmas shopping and wrapping, as I have to start giving stuff out soon!
Got paid and sorted most of my money into different accounts- hulifax lets you rename the account so I now offically do have an RDF account:rotfl:Jan 20 - NST challenge

Lol yes! I've just opened another one tonight and once it's set up I'll rename it. Makes it so much easier and I see you've done that too now. I love logging in and seeing all the named accounts :rotfl:
Sorry to hear about the fraud but very glad to see that you got refunded. Reassuring that FD are on the ball :TDebt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Thanks for the inspiration, Ena
I'm awaiting another fraud team call about the many accounts I have. Good old hulifax just lets me open saving accounts online, as many as I want!
So I now have a nice stack of accounts labeled with their purpose and how much to pay in per month!
I have finally swapped the v,rgin cc payment to my bills account, and I have changed the monthly repayment to a set £35.
I made an extra payment of £100 to the hulifax cc. I know I still have some xmas shopping to do, but I seem to have so much money :A
A few near disasters on the home front, my phone and internet have gone down again! I had two weeks in Oct like this with no service, just had another two weeks and still no end in sight. Had to spend £18 on 5 day access to a hotspot so that I can work from home, plus bought extra data for the mobile:mad: The problem is with the Bt telephone equipment, but I will still complain to t@lktalk as I've really had no service for weeks, not just days.
It just shows how important internet is thesedays! It's been driving me bonkers not being able to come on here or check my banking.
The xmas season is getting into full swing here, need to plan day by day for next few weeks due to meals out, days out etc, get back on the budgetting bandwagon.
I also need to start my sales list, Next year's xmas and 40th bday gifts go on sale from 24 Dec :rotfl::rotfl:Jan 20 - NST challenge
