DS1 had a small mishap inhaling a chemical during chemistry practical at school which prevented him doing games so has ended up with a free afternoon....he's just given 3 friends lifts home as they also had free lessons and has now just gone back to pick his brother up from school for 4pm....

its strange I dont miss the school run one bit!

Gosh..I dont envy you one bit...if she has her own car it might be worth looking at policies with a black box....we got ds1's through admiral and they were very good...expensive but not as bad as some of the quotes we had.

Congratulations to your DD. :T

Has anyone's child done Camp America or a similar programme? DS wants to do it next year. I don't know whether to encourage him to do it, as it does cost quite a lot to do (you basically break even from what I've read after paying out all your costs) or whether he should look at trying to get work in this country - maybe at the YHA camps (think Mhoc's DS did this?) or Kings Camp (we have one 2 minutes away) or PGL etc.

He has a CACHE Level 2 Childcare qualification and is now doing Level 3, which is a 2 year course. He is a qualified RLSS lifeguard, and is a young leader with cubs and woodcraft folk. His ultimate aim is to work in the kids clubs on Disney Cruise Line, but he cant do that til he is 21. He will be 18 in November.
