One here for Dave - no fly cruise 33 nights - treasures of the West Indies £969.

Anyone been on a 'Cruise & Maritime' on Magellan or similar? Have seen quite a few of these very reasonably priced BUT what are they like?
The food, things to do onboard etc. I'd probably be OK with my Kindle packed with books, sitting on the deck but sadly can't book a thing yet.
We're still waiting for the all important call about hubby's ops. :(

We looked at that cruise as we have been with them before. My one and only cruise was on the Marco Polo.
The food arrangements are a self service for snacks and meals OR the silver service restaurant, which we used for every single meal. The food was fabulous, very wide choices in the restaurant.
Things to do on board were craft class, I think they did origami and greetings card making. Singing was another class. I can't remember the other things though.
There is a library on Marco Polo and I imagine they have them on all ships. Not a large affair but seemed to have a good selection of books. I had my kindle though.
Their prices for cruises is good but it's deciding which one to go for. I prefer a no fly cruise.

Cruisecritic will have more info on Cruise & Maritime if you look there.

Congratulations rose, thats lovely news about your daughter. :)

Morning All - Just back from taking DS to hospital where his Physio has given his acupuncture for his shoulder hopefully it will make a difference. Great to see some "alternative medicine alongside mainstream" best of both worlds in my opinion.

Need a cuppa now and a quick read back.

    Have a Good One! xx

A few years back I injured my shoulder swinging a sledgehammer (don't ask!) and the physio lady asked if I was open to alternative therapies and did a couple of sessions of acupuncture. I had my doubts but agreed to give it a go and am so glad I did, it made such a difference. It made me feel exhausted each time and I slept like a log afterwards - well worth it.

check your emails this morning from Groupon - they have sent me three lots of codes for 10%, 20% and 30% off local deals - ends Wednesday.

I am not sure what the difference is or if you are supposed to try all three codes until you find one that takes?

but there might be some ideas for half term activities eg

Zip Wire Ride for One or Two with National Dive Centre (Up to 53% Off)

    £9.50 for one, £18 for 2 :)

    https://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-dive-centre-8?utm_source=FAC_&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=GB_ENGA&linkId=17883537

I got the Zip Wire groupon last year and we went early summer. I must admit it is amazing. I highly recommend. You can book the wigwams like we did and make a weekend of it. Such a beautiful part of the world. The quarry is stunning.

Is anyone else having trouble sourcing the Chicken & Black Pepper? Seems to be OOS everywhere.

They do stock them at T's but most are showing as oos. Inverness Extra has 6 in stock, although I know that this is probably no use to you whatsoever!

Thanks for that - cruise critic is very varied. For the price it looks like C&M can't be beaten. We looked at a 38?day one around Canada which was also an amazing price. I torture myself & hubby looking at cruises a few times a week - there is no way we could book one at the moment with his & my problems.

We've only been on 1 cruise (OK I've done a Nile cruise too) & picked RC Oasis of Seas - the largest cruise ship. Very badly disorganised, to be frank they couldn't organise a p!ss up in a brewery as timings for shows were out by an hour most nights and the embarkation at Southampton was like herding cattle by someone that had never seen cattle before. We have a 20% refund that we have to use before end of year or at least put on a cruise. Can't do nothing until hubby gets his op. date for knee replacement.

How is your knee now & how long did it take for you to be mobile?

Despite the problems on Oasis it was very nice to get to the US on a relaxing cruise. Far more civilised than flying. It would be nice to do 1-2 repositions a year so we could get to see the girls & grandchildren. These C&M cruises are also very tempting to see parts of the world we haven't seen before. I've seen China, Canada & a few more We'd be really interested in doing. My feet are itching like mad & I really want to book something soon.

Thanks for telling me your experience - just shown it to DS and he is surprised that it has helped too. He did mention the tiredness but according to him it a nice sort of tiredness!!!!

Can't see I am going get those jobs earmarked for him, done today.
