Good Afternoon Elite,
I'm a long time lurker, and feel I know so many of you, so thought it time I joined-up and posted.
You do a fantastic job and I enjoy reading your posts, not only to save money on my shopping, but to share your wealth of Life's experiences.
Unfortunately, I have no glitch to bring to the table, but I was in Asda earlier, and they had boxes of "Cadbury Mini Rolls Halloween Party30 Pack" for £3.00
These were the standard milk chocolate with white cream filling. I thought 30 for £3.00 was very good as my kids love these, and there may be some left for the Trick Or TreatersFighting Recurring Cancer0 -

WishI'dReadSooner wrote: »Thanks for that - cruise critic is very varied. For the price it looks like C&M can't be beaten. We looked at a 38?day one around Canada which was also an amazing price. I torture myself & hubby looking at cruises a few times a week - there is no way we could book one at the moment with his & my problems.
We've only been on 1 cruise (OK I've done a Nile cruise too) & picked RC Oasis of Seas - the largest cruise ship. Very badly disorganised, to be frank they couldn't organise a p!ss up in a brewery as timings for shows were out by an hour most nights and the embarkation at Southampton was like herding cattle by someone that had never seen cattle before. We have a 20% refund that we have to use before end of year or at least put on a cruise. Can't do nothing until hubby gets his op. date for knee replacement.
How is your knee now & how long did it take for you to be mobile?
Despite the problems on Oasis it was very nice to get to the US on a relaxing cruise. Far more civilised than flying. It would be nice to do 1-2 repositions a year so we could get to see the girls & grandchildren. These C&M cruises are also very tempting to see parts of the world we haven't seen before. I've seen China, Canada & a few more We'd be really interested in doing. My feet are itching like mad & I really want to book something soon.
The knee replacement itself went very well. Great not to have pain in that area anymore although the muscle over the knee cap was very tender, to be expected though.
I was able to walk with 2 sticks (rather than my usual 1) the day after the op. The following week I started physio for only 4 sessions but was walking with 1 stick due to problems with left knee joint now.
Not allowed to drive until 6 weeks after op or until you can do an emergency stop. that's what held me up from getting into driving asap. Due to me having multi joint osteo a I found that driving was making all my other joints scream out in agony and had to rest up the following day.
I've had to just gradually build up my driving distance but haven't gone over 100 round trip yet. I'm desperate to go home to the wonderful northeast :j. But as far as walking goes it varies person to person depending on other issues.
One thing I would say is to be sure to do ALL the excercises that the hospital recommend both before AND after the op. These are to build up muscle strength, I found them tiring, some difficult especially the after ones but am pleased I did themThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Thanks Anon for giving a reply, I was ready for the off when I posted and have just seen mrs g asking about Lucozade
I remember the Orange wrap too, as kids we used to wander round looking through it. Used to make the dreary dull days look so light and sunny :rotfl: :rotfl:
And the gold foil top that my mother used as a little cup to give us
all a drink out of ... and when we had medicine to take she used the
same spoon and just went down the line of us who needed it
As there was 7 of us ...i wonder how we never gave ourselves
bubonic plague and you could only buy lucozade in a chemist then
And i feel sorry for the lads then as it was my 2 older sisters first in
tin bath then me and my 2 younger brothers then my 2 older
brothers .... they must of had to break the scum on top of the
bath with a pit axe0 -
Thank you to the Op ( think it was Piglet from Winnie The Pooh)
Red Velvet Cake compared £5 to £2.65 Tesco from my 10 am shop this morning.
I shall look forward to trying it later with a nice cuppaFighting Recurring Cancer0 -

Oh yes, the little gold cup, I'd forgotten about that :rotfl: there was only 3 of us so we each had a clean spoon
Crikey perky  that bath water must have been hacky dirty by the time you had all had your baths :rotfl::rotfl: We had a proper bath but I know of families who had tin ones :cool:There's no place like home
