thought id go for a refund too. but my 2 are visitors ones and cant get money back. however i used their chat service to get a balance. i was told i cant be given an exact figure but i have enough on there to travel for 1 day between zones 1-6
What are visitor ones? I have only ever visited, never lived there. If they are different from the normal design, like a special addition, they can go for good money on Ebay.

I like the sound of the shcwatz herbs and spices but stood looking at the shelves in Sainburys trying to select the correct ones that will compare against Sadas totally confuses me

I really need an idiots list

One of my nectar cards needs a £10 shop for which I get 200 points so this would be good.

My COS accounts have been dormant for weeks, getting the coke zero has been the first cashback item since last August

Waking up in different ports every day, getting up at the crack of dawn when there is a long sail in. Sipping mugs of tea and watching sail outs - or something fizzy if its been a nice hot day, watching land slip away and looking for dolphins following in the wake, sea days when you can go a myriad of different activites or just go to watch a film or a port talk or a healthy walk around deck or just lounge by the pool with your book doing nothing for hours - magic ...
Sounds wonderful, we are convinced (although dh doesn't know it yet  ) that is our next mission. When I show him some of cruises I have been looking at, he won't take too much convincing I am sure. Can't keep doing same old same old every year eh? I think we need something new to look forward too.

That's the other Aldi bargain I got this week to try but I keep forgetting to tell you about

Aldi have bread mix in various versions for 59p :j

I looks very straight forward, all you need is warm water and not a lot of skill but these would be perfect to stock pile over winter

It says it makes 10 rolls at a time so I am going to use half a bag

They had various versions including crusty bread and a chilli one - possibly good for making a pizza base or a flatbread base
I get the bags of mozzarella for 49p from Aldi - just drain and put lumps of it on top of flat breads with chiritzo slices and cherry toms and slithers of peppers etc

When the weather was awful last winter some days we only went as far as Spar for bread

    Things to think about
Cabins - choice of inside, outside or balcony going up in price.
Balconies sometimes are a mixed blessing, winter cruises you don't get much use of them. Insides are good if you spend very little time in your cabin apart from sleeping and showering.
All excellent standard whatever you choose.
Dining - some ships have fixed dining, early or late, some have freedom dining where you go when you want. Late dining tends to be 8.30 so you might not finish until 10 - Ok If you are a night owl.
Or you can just use the buffet if you don't like to do formal dining
Also there are speciality restaurants which you can book and pay a premium for - some times there are special offers on the first few days
Ports - Norway and Iceland are gloriously scenic so ideally you need an outside or balcony, more expensive but well worth it - generally May to September as they have a very short spring/summer. Ports are close to towns so you berth very close in and don't have to worry about shuttle buses.
Lots of nice cruises going down the coast of France, Spain, Portugul and Gibraltar and the Canaries and then there are med cruises.
And then there are fly cruises where the world is your oyster

What you pay extra for - your bar bill but on P & o prices are like pub prices, excursions but these are not compulsory, spa services, anything you spend in shops, select dining, coffee shops, shuttles

But some cruises our final bill has only been a few bar bills

Thank you for your advice. I am going to have a look. I am actually in Norfolk but I am sure we can get to where we need to go. I think I would, as suggested, start with a week/10 day one just in case I get seasick! It will be something different for a change, thanks mhoc. Looking forward to doing all that 'necessary' shopping for suitable clothing. As you say, I wear jeans and jumpers most of the time so it will be nice to wear some posh frocks. Now to convince Dh that a cruise is just what we need!

Someone asked me once if I have a cruise wardrobe and I do

There are certain things that will go on every cruise - the formal dresses, white jeans with a selection of summer tops, black formal trousers with matching tops and the sparkly shoes
and the suitcase is always partly packed - we once booked with only 10 days notice so we are always in a state of readiness

Every time I shop for clothes now the main criteria has to be would it be suitable for a cruise :D
