    Things to think about
Cabins - choice of inside, outside or balcony going up in price.
Balconies sometimes are a mixed blessing, winter cruises you don't get much use of them. Insides are good if you spend very little time in your cabin apart from sleeping and showering.
All excellent standard whatever you choose.
Dining - some ships have fixed dining, early or late, some have freedom dining where you go when you want. Late dining tends to be 8.30 so you might not finish until 10 - Ok If you are a night owl.
Or you can just use the buffet if you don't like to do formal dining
Also there are speciality restaurants which you can book and pay a premium for - some times there are special offers on the first few days
Ports - Norway and Iceland are gloriously scenic so ideally you need an outside or balcony, more expensive but well worth it - generally May to September as they have a very short spring/summer. Ports are close to towns so you berth very close in and don't have to worry about shuttle buses.
Lots of nice cruises going down the coast of France, Spain, Portugul and Gibraltar and the Canaries and then there are med cruises.
And then there are fly cruises where the world is your oyster

What you pay extra for - your bar bill but on P & o prices are like pub prices, excursions but these are not compulsory, spa services, anything you spend in shops, select dining, coffee shops, shuttles

But some cruises our final bill has only been a few bar bills
A bit more complicated than I first thought. It really has to be thought through. Time of year is important it would seem as regards balcony. Inside or outside cabins, that is a bit of a conundrum for me. Dh does like a view :o so that would be important for us. Didn't realise all these things. It obviously needs careful though. Thank you, we will have a look over the weekend and see what we can come up with for earl next year. Dh will be wondering where this has all come from :rotfl:but I am sure he will love the idea. I have mentioned to him before about the amount of people on here that go on cruises.

Someone asked me once if I have a cruise wardrobe and I do

There are certain things that will go on every cruise - the formal dresses, white jeans with a selection of summer tops, black formal trousers with matching tops and the sparkly shoes
and the suitcase is always partly packed - we once booked with only 10 days notice so we are always in a state of readiness

Every time I shop for clothes now the main criteria has to be would it be suitable for a cruise :D
    Love it :T

    Tenth Anniversary
Ok, I need to get this off my chest!! So, yesterday I went to Tesco to get some stuff for tonight's dinner. I noticed this lady was staring at me on the same aisle I was on. No biggie. I moved to the next aisle and here she comes again...STARING! So now I'm like, "!!!!!!", but finish up my shopping and head to the check out line.Of course this same lady was ahead of me...starts staring again. Awkward. So I start playing with my phone so I don't have to look at her. Finally she says "I want to apologize for staring at you, but you look just like my son who just passed away." I felt really bad after that and gave her my condolences. She says "thank you...but I have a favor to ask. I understand if you don't want to. Can you give me a hug and say 'bye mum' to me?" Inside I was like "!!!!!!", but me being the softie that I am, I went ahead and did it. She smiles, thanks me, and leaves. The cashier rings up my stuff and the total comes out to £100.87 I knew something wasn't right, because I didn't get much and it should have been like £40 or so. The girl tells me that my total was included with my mum's. I'm like, "What?!!!" she said, "Your mum said you were paying for her last few items along with your things. I told her that the woman was most definitely NOT my mum. She said, well I saw you hug her and heard you call her mum. I flew out of the store looking for this witch, ready to beat her !!!!. I see her loading up her car! She saw me and jumped in her car, I got to her as she was putting her leg in, and I started pulling her leg...JUST LIKE I'M PULLING YOURS!!!! Hope you all are having a wonderful day! X

Just three days to get your products

Does anyone know if it makes any difference whatsoever if you just use these slow clocker mixes in normal stew pots in the oven?

    Really :rotfl:

I was starting to believe Scamps post until I read that his shopping should have been about £40.....yeah right!!!!!

£4 would have been more believable, but £40....he physically couldnt carry that much home in one go....an elite shopper would have had that delivered and be using vouchers to pay!
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend

I just went through loads of different emotions in a few seconds. Don't know if you made this story up or got it from somewhere else, but I'd not heard it before.
Initially I thought like you and how rude to stare at you, then how awful for her to have lost her son, but sweet of you to grant her, her wish to hug you. Then still hadn't twigged it was a scam until the cashier said the woman had said her son was paying and was thinking that's a very clever scam (but awful to pretend to have a dead son)
Then getting to the end and hearing none of it was true......but now worried others will read it and potentially it becomes a scam......but then thinking it's such a clever scenario I want to share with others too
    It's such a quandary
    but very cleaver Scamps....I think....or do I
    The end is nigh
