After putting a claim and nudging like you did, mine finally paid out a few months ago.
, I really thought I was the only one not paid out by them. They dragged their feet with us then, but at least it was a nice surprise in the end.

Mhoc, I haven't read back so don't know if u are cruising or not but if u get the chance visit Cesar Manrique's lava bubble home - it s fantastic. We also went to Timanfaya and rode camels in the fire mountains, another great trip. We loved it, have fun when you get there! 😀
no a while yet to go sadly ...
I will look these up, doing all of my background reading, we have an afternoon to do our own stuff, if its not 38 degrees
Camels are on my "animals I am a bit nervous about" list. When we were in Agadir while we were listening to the guide a camel herder and camel snook up and sat beside us, slightly freeky.
none of our group took up the offer of a sit on a camel“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
I can't find the right words to convey what I want to say today, disappointed was one of them. Have written couple of posts and then deleted them. So will just say Good Morning before it ends up being Afternoon. :eek:Before you assume, learn the facts,

we went to the canaries about 3 years ago - have to check the diaries to see what our route was then
I know we went up Mount Teide on Tenerife and it was spectacular
So it is a cruise you are going on? Stopping off at different locations? I have never been on a cruise, they all seem so expensive. I have an aunt who does love the cruises, all the dressing for dinner etc, she spends fortunes on new dresses for each one. Before you assume, learn the facts,

Dh did Teide, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. As hot as it was that day, he had to take a jacket. He said it was absolutely brilliant. He came back with stories of little tow paths, I was dying with horror :rotfl:

compared to a nice cheap flights and all inclusive places cruises are expensive. I think though I would get itchy feet being based in just one place
we only really starting doing any travelling over the last 5 years - the previous decades were taken up with 3 kids, aged relatives and no money.
The first 2 and a half Mr T paid for in the olden days when it was easier to collect points but now we have to pay for them ourselves.
cruising just suits us -I like being able to pay for everything upfront so its just spending money
I have food challenges but its never any problem on ships. All the meals are included and you can eat as much or as little and whenever you want. We like visiting new places and going exploring.
Mostly we go from Southampton so no flying involved and no issues with driving on strange roads or car hire etc.
The dressing up is quite fun as well - in normal life its either uniform or leggings and baggy jumpers or gardening gear with a layer of mud so it makes a nice change form everyday life.
we tend to go in the winter months - try and get a late Autumn one in last minute but its not happened this year so mostly its November through to May after which the garden goes into over drive. we like Norway and Iceland in the spring but we also like the Atlantic coast spain, Portugul, Gibraltar etc in the winter months - quite happy with 25 degrees if we can find it“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
This is very sad. Something really bad has happened, obviously, should I read back? I think I will as it is worrying me now. I thought it was a little bit of tooing and froing (right words?) but now I can see it is more than that when you are so lost for words.
Afternoon.
Yes it is sad but not the end of the world.
I would suggest that those people who have benefited from the work of deedee and sfsb should now get off their bum and try to find some glitches.I don't think it is that hard.
Most of the glitches come from toiletries so I reckon it is a case of keeping an eye on upcoming promotions and checking prices online and in store on a wednesday.
I quite understand what has happened and why and think fairclaire gave a very fair appraisal of the situation.0 -

so that's my new bottom line - museli bars for 99p max
Oh I think Muesli bars was s/price ones at 40p RTC. I haven't bought any muesli bars since:rotfl:. (Except possibly those Kellogg's Granolas as part of a glitch months ago - my guide price is nil pence:rotfl:.)
Other people's prices, what they expect to pay, are so different to mine. I was just thinking about this earlier. I had that person buying the Special K bars at £1.98:eek:. I'd expect £1 offer price and, even then, would expect to get at half that cost or lower. People think that Aldi and Lidl are cheap. (In fact isn't Lidl introducing this 'premium' exclusive - in the sense of luxury - range? I reckon it catches the shoppers who think Lidl is a cheaper place to shop and then end up making impulse purchases and buying luxury items at really expensive prices. Aldi has already got these exclusive, like "Extra Special" things in and people will end up buying premium at high cost - and they think it's worth buying because it's the store that has called it "Extra Special" or whatever - it's the power of marketing, working again and getting people to spend more money than they would otherwise.) Msm has these 'Shops' things on its site now as well, which I think tend to defeat money-saving.
It does seem to make sense, from the stores' points of view, to introduce 'premium' ranges into what people see as the 'discounters'. They'll then overspend massively on these pricey items, especially because they think they've got a good deal elsewhere. It is psychology like that but my way of thinking (different as ever) is 'why ruin it all by buying pricey items after you've made a saving?' - most people seem to think the opposite - they've got some bargains so then they think they can treat themselves to other things (and then 'ruin' it all! Ruin all the savings). It does make sense to put premium products into stores that people think are "discounters". People will go there, assuming them to be discount stores, and buy the lower-priced items but then also pick up the premium products and pay way over the odds. It's a marketing strategy and a way of getting money out of your pockets. (For that, read 'way of making a profit'. Which, of course, is the store's job:doh:. They're just doing their job! Well, we're doing ours - which is saving money!)
I've said it before - whilst sometimes there are items that tend to go to lower prices than the 'big' stores - for example the Super6 - a lot of everything else in the stores seems to me to be more or less the same price as everywhere else. And A is the same price on a lot of items too, when it 'should' be 10% cheaper. In fact, it shouldn't - that's just a marketing promotion thing. They never say they are 10% cheaper, just that 'if they're not' (and you meet all the conditions), they'll give you the difference (...if their system picks everything up properly).
So they'll all expensive except on a few items on which they have on promotion:rotfl:. (The items usually to avoid on the APG and pick the competitor's promotional items instead.)
Lidl has on at the moment some "fun"-size bananas at 69p. Which means, 10p per banana when bought loose at normal price (and even that's not a much cheaper whoopsie price), I'd expect 6 or 7 bananas in the pack. So how many are there? Well, I counted about six. But they were much smaller (hence the "fun") and therefore buying their loose bananas at regular 68p/kg would be cheaper (6 of those bananas are much larger).
I was thinking about how other people's expectations of what price to pay are so much different to mine. I saw a basket of 300g After Eight Mints - a basket, strategically placed in the store to encourage impulse purchasing - at £1.99! People think Lidl (and Aldi) are cheaper, but the 300g After Eights are currently £1 in M. So, on that item, Lidl is actually currently nearly twice the cost. Then the Toblerone 400g at £2:eek: (or maybe it was £3?:eek:). People elsewhere seem to think these are good prices - however ours were a comparison against 75p. Such totally different pricing expectations to us - on these two items, Lidl is really really expensive when looked at in the light of the other prices that are, or have been, available elsewhere.0 -
