  • Hope you guys don't mind me jumping in here as I am a newbie but I totally agree with the sob story thing. One I entered asked 'whats top of your wish list for christmas' Someone had written 'world peace and happiness' numerous people had come along not read anything properly and assumed that was the 'answer' as such and copied it. Mine said 'well I could wish for world peace and happiness for all but to be truthful I'd rather like Tom Hardy naked and dipped in chocolate thanks' he he ...I didn't win :rotfl:
in it for the fun winning is just a bonus! :j:j:j

I think I would actively not pick the sob stories if I was picking, especially when they are totally out of context like at the moment. Tell me your worst present - they are expecting answers like a jumper with Mr Blobbys picture on it when I was 15 from my Nan etc. I would go with the proper answers if I was picking, the sob stories must get on their nerves too.

'What would you like for Christmas this year?'
I agree with you. We all would love to see homeless people off the streets, no bombs or terrorist attacks, no loss of loved ones......and we have all experienced probles on or around Christmas, whether it was a death, break-up, burgalry, accident....but we don't all incorporate those into our answers and choose to tell the world about our woes. If I was the person choosing the winner, I would bi-pass all the sob stories and choose someone who simply wants something like a pair of new slippers for Christmas :)

    Depends on the individual T&C's.

Looking at some of these Twitter comps, the RT numbers are well down today, I'm guessing a lot of people don't comp at the weekend? (or are out Christmas Shopping and will catch up tonight)

Apologies if this is in the wrong place, but I think the silent night advent has disappeared, at least i can't find it. Today's link is http://www.silentnight.co.uk/advent-calendar/entry-form/ with the prize a duvet set for a family of four. Not sure if I am supposed to be reporting it somewhere or reposting?

95% of the competitions i've entered have said that the winner is randomly selected, and it states it quite clearly in the T&C's which a lot of people don't read.. which makes the sob stories even more annoying because it doesn't have an effect on the outcome anyway!!

Hey I am away for the weekend thought I would be fine but I had a few hours to pass this morning so did some comping only 47 pages to catch up on, then this evening I am watching x-fixer so more time to pass. All caught up now and almost out of this wonderful 2005 red wine. On the other hand I have won a lovely hamper :)
