Can a seller take the carpets & blinds AFTER completion?

Have a look at the fixtures and fittings list and perhaps give your solicitor a call too.
She should have moved everything she had wanted to take with her on or before completion and yes she is taking the P coming back for things in dribs and drabs.
Are the carpets fitted? I would have thought those would have been part of the fixtures unless otherwise stated.
Have you changed the locks just in case she still has a key?
I would agree; perhaps it's a little simplistic, but I thought that was the idea of the fixtures and fittings form, to enable the seller to list and remove anything they wanted to keep? Otherwise, there's not much point in filling out the form and then wanting to change your mind after completion.
Actually, I've found that carpets, blinds and to a lesser extent curtains, are never quite the same once removed and then refitted, unless the new house has exactly the same dimensions as the old one.
At this stage, I would politely suggest that the seller take a walk and (as Pixie has advised) ensure that the locks are changed to avoid any nasty little surprises should the house be left unattended!A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -

Ah, good point, but there's still all those 'special' plants in the garden! :rotfl:
Hahaha........yes, imagine coming home and finding a bare patch instead of your nicely laid lawn, as they needed to turf their new property!!!
Where could it end?!! :rotfl:A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -
A few odds and ends I can understand, although it's a bit cheeky. But the CARPETS?! Blimey.
Like others, fixtures and fittings list... if they said they come with the house, they come with the house. Although TBH I'm not sure how much right they have to come and take stuff post completion where it's basically assumed everything is within the new owners' rights to keep.0 -
The short answer is "No, they can't".
However, since they asked you for the goods and you agreed to their removal (even though they were yours), then that's an entirely different kettle of fish. You have voluntarily and willingly approved the removal of your goods.0 -

I have visions of them returning every few days for "a few bricks" and it ending with you sat on a pile of earth looking at the foundation holes where the house used to be...:)0
