Can a seller take the carpets & blinds AFTER completion?

Question: Does a seller have a legal right to fixtures and fittings that they left in the property (which the buyer has said they do not want), even after completion?
Background: We have just bought a house and 3 days after completion seller knocks on the door stating they want certain things from the house. We accommodated and let her take the requested goods. Then 14 days she calls again wanting the blinds. A further 3 days another call for the carpets. We feel that we have been extremely reasonable and gave her opportunity to collect what she wanted from the house, even after we completed. But we are starting to feel harassed now and just want to enjoy our new home.

Did they leave them on the fixtures and fittings form?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Have a look at the fixtures and fittings list and perhaps give your solicitor a call too.
She should have moved everything she had wanted to take with her on or before completion and yes she is taking the P coming back for things in dribs and drabs.
Are the carpets fitted? I would have thought those would have been part of the fixtures unless otherwise stated.
Have you changed the locks just in case she still has a key?0 -
The words "MY house isn't a free storage room for your possessions. Anything in it is now mine. Goodbye" would probably have come out of my mouth the first time she tried calling round...0

My vendor left things we didn't want eg. Cooker. Solicitor said that there was no request made to collect anything post completion so I could do what I liked with it. We weren't talking anything high value, but blinds, lamp shades, junk etc.0

Really? The first time? I've had quite a few meetings with the people I sold to and those I bought from. I can't think of a situation where those words would have applied on a first request for a favour. Indeed, both sides have done favours because that's how these things work.
In this instance, I'd have been OK until the carpet stage. Removing the carpets in a room where there's furniture placed on it, even temporarily, is disruptive and inconvenient, so that request could reasonasbly be countered with, "Sure, but you'll have to wait until I'm replacing them."
It sounds as if the seller is suffering from seller's remorse, because their new place doesn't feel as if it's theirs; hence the desire to import some of the old one. It probably also means that they were so disorganised when moving, that they had no time to remove things they really wanted. Overall, they just sound a bit dotty.
Not a problem, until it's something needed or hard to remove.0 -
I would say no, jog on!
They have to take everything at completion.
If you don't want the items they are wanting then put them outside in a bag! In terms of carpet, are they having a laugh? No way would I give them that now with all the upheaval that would involve0 -
Depending on what you agreed on the fixtures and fitting form I would tell them to go away. Add you've already let them take stuff they probably see you as a soft touch.0

Two words : "Storage charge"0

Have you allowed the previous owner to actually remove the carpets from your property?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

As above - key is what was on the fixtures and fitting form.
Though if the seller came back after I'd put all my furniture on the carpets, wanting to lift them, I'd be unimpressed!0
