I have a feeling that anyone boasting about the level of the minimum wage does not have to get by on it.

...so following the same logic, privatisation has saved thousands of peoples injuries, with double the passengers we would expect double the injuries (3,800) but we only got 1,195 or just over 25% of expected. Yay for Privatisation!

Yet the private sector model recently adopted by the Prison Service has seen a marked decrease in prisoner and staff safety. Serious assaults on staff have increased by 58% incidentally.

I am not scared of calling in sick as such but am certainly terrified of the financial implications as I only get a few paid sick days a year and statutory sick pay certainly won't pay the bills. It does really frighten me as i have no spare dosh in a month and so if I get in debt it would be near on impossible to get out again.

    well
which country has a higher minimum wage?
would you feel more self righteous if the wage was smaller?

what do you 'mean a race to the bottom'?

Old Jezza Hunt gave a convenient steer on what the race to the bottom means this morning I thought. I have a feeling his call for Brits to work harder means us accepting Chinese style p***poor working conditions and the US style non-unionised hire em and fire em culture.
What price the Tories NLW if we`re in the midst of another much predicted global recession BTW.

so you are against the new NLW?

you blame the Tories for the new global recession?

you think the world owes you (us ) a living without having to work?

whats your solution : borrow massively more money and pay higher wages for goods and services that no-one will buy?

(sorry missed out :more money for civil servants in the prison service but take that as read)

I would genuinely accept a wage freeze (albeit grudgingly) if I hadn't seen my workplace safety plummet. You may be aware of the murdered private sector PCO who under private sector safe systems of work had her head kicked in a few weeks back.
This is 21st Century Tory Britain, we used to be better than this.

do you blame the Tories for the coming world recession?

do you think the world owes you a living?

do you think the solution is to borrow more and pay more to produce things people don't wont to buy?

why does being in the 21st century make any difference except of course everyone in the UK is enormously rich compared to previous ages and most of the world today

I'm sorry that a PCO was injured at work : clearly there are problems which need to be addressed.

I`m suggesting that before we boast about a £9 and odd NLW lets get it in first.
Are you arguing that the UK is enormously rich but we need to adopt the economic policies of those who are poorer than us?
    Louise Barwell was murdered BTW.
