I guess £500 is better than losing the whole £1500. It all depends now which underwriter we get. Have the bad one could mean a yes or a no!

Sunny - I know, it's so scary that the chance of getting our future family home lies with one person now. I hope they're nice lol

Jess - with your hubbys mobile late payments, have you requested for them to remove this off his credit file? I had a similar thing with my Orange broadband. I changed bank accounts and there was issues with taking payments which affected me obtaining a loan until I registered on experian and discovered why. When I emailed Orange (now EE) they put a request to have this removed immediately after I explained the situation, especially being with them for 4 years at the time!

It was registered as a default, they even had a second mobile account for him that they were sending bills to at the correct address but didn't update the first one.
He said he contacted them about this some time ago but they wouldn't do anything about it as it should be upto him to monitor his accounts.

(working in debt collection myself, I know that that's the typical answer too and speaking to those companies on the phone very rarely gets you anywhere as the people on the other End of the phone are pretty useless)
  • Anyone had any news? We haven't :( losing hope x

Jess and Fairy - when was your valuation booked in?

I've got mine tomorrow so just seeing what the realistic time scales are after valuation to mortgage offer?

Everyone gets nervous and anxious at the waiting game. Have you all considered that the underwriters have a backlog of numerous applications to go through and yours are on the bottom list working its way to the top? :) I'm sure we are all getting worried over nothing!

We have a joint application but it is my income that the mortgage is leant against. No issues with our credit files/scores so nothing to be concerned about. So after valuation is done tomorrow (not really much to do on a new build not even built yet apart from checking a few floor plans) I will be joining the underwriters queue so hopefully you ladies should get your offers before me! If I get my offer before you it must be because your application is joined another queue for further consideration. Just a guess?

Lauxx - I am sure there's just a backlog of DIP's referred, nothing more. They have 100's of applications to shift through!

Sunny - mine is already being dealt with by the underwriters as confirmed by the broker earlier. There is a 3-4 day wait on the underwriters

Our valuation was done on the 25th and the underwriters only started looking at it yesterday x
