Why? Because I, like so many thousands of people now question the honesty of the average Ebay seller and ebay itself?

Because we see time and time again the shill bids going on in the auctions and we find the free postage isnt free at all but a 'marketting ploy'

No wonder the BIN 'bargains' are so overpriced compared to the local free paper

Can I ask what you base the title of this thread on?

I would be interested in your stats which show increasing fraud.

    Is that aimed at me?

    Check what out?

That's my point. You've not given any evidence, just crackpot statements.
  • It does seem this thread of ebay sellers has turned into a bunch of little bully boys.

I'm still waiting to hear where sellers are allowed to add the cost of postage...

I would also suggest to the OP that they might benefit from a bit of study or a book or something about what a business is and how costs are apportioned . Business or private sellers have to pay postage if shipping goods , those costs have to be passed along to the buyer and that can be done either by making a separate charge or adding it to the item price.

Please provide links. For someone who believes they have hard evidence, you're being quite evasive.

Hundreds of thousands of people buy from ebay sellers daily, with no question of honesty and no issues.

If I question a seller or ebays honesty it's not ever based on free P&P and the sellers actual costs. Why would you ever question it, it makes no difference to you.

You ever think that maybe they're different prices because the paper allows cash in hand, involves collection and is sold as seen. So no fees to bring the amount down you get. People are lazy/too busy so a lower price is more persuading for people to come and buy. Sold as seen so no worries about a buyer wanting to return the item (worth losing a little for that).

Collection only items on ebay are often cheaper than ones with postage because most want cash in hand (so no Paypal fees) and people want items posted to them so the lower price catches their attention and can be the reason they buy. Lower price, but bit of hassle collecting.

Course, postage does cost something so either way the total amount you pay is likely to be more when it involves the item being posted.

Plus if selling to anywhere in the country/world you have far more potential buyers than just selling in the town/city in which you live so you can get the price an item is worth rather than possibly having to sell it off cheaper just to get rid.
