Tesco Shoplifting - need help.

I haven't glossed over anything - it happened exactly as I have wrote it - at no point did anybody say "you are under arrest for x.y or z" - when I walked back in to the store I thought i was being led to a checkout to pay........I have not glossed over anything at all.

Surely there is a difference between somebody "arresting" you and somebody telling you that you are "under arrest" already ?
If a Police man arrests me doesn't he have to say ........""*Name*, I am arresting you on suspicion of *Crime*. You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence."
Does this NOT apply to private security ?
Surely only when the above has been said can he say that I am now "under arrest" - or have I watched too much "The Bill"

There is no specific wording to use when making a citizens arrest. However you must inform the person you are arresting as soon as possible what you are doing, why you are doing it and what offence you believe the person has committed.

It has taught me to ensure I take my medication with food every time..........
I am not using the medication as an "excuse" but it was certainly a "contributing factor"

You were always going to get a generic polite response back saying they would investigate.
It will be interesting to see whether they actually remove the ban. The question is of course would you really want to shop in a store where the security guards and some senior members of staff think you're a thief?
There will almost certainly be a photo of you in the security room as a potential shop lifter so they'll focus in on you if they spot you.0
