Shifting my energy for 20200 -
Updating early as I've finished work for the week ahead of my holiday on Sunday
:j:j:j
The main event of the week was an Away Day that I facilitated yesterday - 60 people - which was the most I've ever worked with at one time. It went well - the CEO who hired me sent me an email today thanking me for my excellent facilitation & said he'd look for more opportunities to work with me in the future:):) I'm feeling very proud of myself and happy. He is very well networked and knows LOADS of people and I am just hoping he spreads the word. I love facilitating and if I got one facilitating job a week I'd be living very well indeed.
Other than that I've coached 6 clients one of who was new. In theory I'm meant to be Coaching someone at the weekend (Sat) but they haven't confirmed so I'm thinking it might not happen & as much a the money would be nice my brain has slipped into holiday mode so its not the end of the world if it doesn't happen
I'm going on holiday and plan a week of doing nuffin - hoorah !!!
Have an amazing week everyone.:):)

I'm ok thanks SR, just ticking along, doing endless surveys and trying to keep on top of everythingEverything I'm doing is geared towards clearing debt so I can leave my job and I'm getting quite excited at the prospect. No idea what I'm doing when I leave though :rotfl:

Hi OrangeEna & Brizzled - Thanks for stopping by & for your lovely comments

Glad that you are moving steadily towards your goal OrangeEna. Re: having no idea what you're going to do - one of the thing I suggest to my clients in that situation is to just start to notice your energy levels in relation to things that you do / imagine doing - for example when I talk to people my energy goes up & when I think about statistics I lose the will to live. It was something my Coach suggested I did when I was working out what to do next and it helped clarify things so much - so simple too. Also doing questionnaires etc on your strengths and values - there's a free online one called "Values In Action" - just google their website. There's also a good book / online test called "Strengths-finder" - that costs about a tenner. Also if you happen to be aged 18-30 I know a free coaching service that you could use to help you work it out - Just PM me.Shifting my energy for 20200 -
Update - Sorry folks it's a LONG one
Hi All
I had a lovely holiday - managed to switch off and recharge my batteries. I got back in the early hours of Monday morning and started coaching that afternoon. The rest of the week has felt like I've been slowly waking up from a dream - which is a great improvement on how it used to feel going back to work which was more like having 2 noisy alarm clocks strapped to either side of my head and going off from day one!!
While I was relaxing in the sun I did some dreaming about my business a big part of which was - why on Earth when I love Spain so much don't I spend more time there. I do most of my coaching on Skype and phone and a trip to Spain can be done cheaply off season & my son turns 18 in 3 years so I assume he'll be off to Uni or something like that.... So in September I am planning a "reccy" to see whether it would be possible to work from there for a week plus scope out the idea of running a coaching retreat from Spain. So a key task for this weekend is to type up the notes I've made (currently on sunscreen stained scraps of paper) and the focus of the summer is to brush up on my Spanish - it was only every fairly basic but is now downright rustyI feel so excited writing this- it feels closer to reality than its ever been.
So while I was away obviously I earned nothing and while that is just a fact of self-employed life - there was something unnerving about entering a big fat ZERO onto my earnings spreadsheet. I have given myself lots of "self-talk" to stay calm about it and the fact that the summer is likely to be a lot quieter than it has been. I want to stay grounded and to use my time productively and enjoy the summer rather than get into a fear based mindset which will only lead to me making myself miserable and possibly making reactive decisions.
So next week looks like a "busy-enough" week. I also need to put the finishing touches to a timeline for a workshop I am doing the following week. Hopefully by the end of next week I will have caught up with things.
Ooh & I forgot to mention my most recent obsession. I read a book about de-cluttering on holiday "The More of Less" and felt really inspired by it. I've read a LOT of books about this subject but particularly liked this one because the writer links discarding your excess possessions to getting things out of the way so that you can lead your life purpose. I really liked the Marie Kondo book and love the concept of "sparking joy" but this one resonates with me more.
Have an amazing week lovlies :j:j:jShifting my energy for 20200 -

Ah thank you so much SR, that's brilliant. I'll definitely check those out when I get a free hour to think! I think find it easier to know what I don't want to do but I need to start narrowing down what I WANT to do. I'll let you know
Sadly I'm a bit old now for that, heading rapidly to 40 :D
Your plans for the future sound amazing, it's really inspiring. :T You sound like you're buzzing
I don't know if you have done this or thought about it but could you put away a twelfth of your salary to cover your own holidays so that you still get paid? I know it'll all be your money at the end of the day but it must be satisfying to pay yourself even though you're on holiday

Hiya
Sorry I haven't been in touch recently and great to hear you enjoyed your well-earned holiday.
Love the idea of you spending some part of the year in Spain. I haven't mentioned it on any of the other threads, but we are planning to move to Spain in two years time last April, fingers xd.
We are looking at Andalusia south, as it has the best all-round weather of all Spain - not too hot in the summer nor cold in the winter. We have holidayed there the last three years and like what we've seen.
Probably near Nerja or east of that along the coast. There also is two airports, Malaga and Granada, if you need to get out of the country easily. Which area are you looking at ??
I'm also trying to brush up on my Spanish and atm doing an on-line course. I also sometimes do some practice on Memrise - free on-line app. Maybe we should try some Spanish between us.
I was going to suggest you put aside something each month/week towards your holiday weeks as well. I suppose that's what holiday pay is, if you think about it.
It's good to hear how well you're doing and how positive you are sounding about how your life's going. I'll try not to leave it so long before I come back - meanwhile all the best and hope you enjoy the weekend.
