Good Morning - & what a lovely bright sunny one it is here today.
The cold/bug that I thought I'd got rid of crept back & I spent a lot of last week feeling unwell, low energy and frankly a bit miserable. That started to lift towards the end of the week which is a relief but I'm still feeling achy and tired as the day wears on.
I managed to fulfil all my work commitments by resting in between sessions. (they were all telephone and Skype based). But I had to cancel a couple of things that meant me getting out so by the end of the week I was feeling a little isolated.
Even though that isolation was related to being ill it made me realise I really miss the "water-cooler" side of work - the bit where you I get to catch up with someone about the weekend, talk about a film or TV show that I've watched or moan about something that's bugging me... I definitely need to work on getting that need met. I guess a Co-working space would be ideal but they're not cheap and I don't feel that I'm earning enough to justify that at the moment. So I will try to find another way that's free or cheap to meet that need. To start with I will try to at least find a public space I can work from 2-3 days per week.
Other than that a decent week earnings wise. I had my final session with my Mentor - I will miss her input and the accountability. I guess the mentoring ending has really brought thoughts of the support I need to the fore also.
Next week - I've got a fairly busy week coaching wise and a day of workshops (as a participant) on Friday. I'm also going to be meeting a coach friend of mine for lunch on Weds - we did our basic training together - I like her a lot - she lives over 100 miles away so I don't get to see her very often and I'm really looking forward to that
Off to coach someone now - then the Bank Holiday weekend is mine - all mine:):) - Wishing you all the weekend and week you want to have. xxx

Updating a little early as, if the weather forecast is to be believed, we're in for a scorcher tomorrow & I want to spend maximum time in the garden if that happens.
I went from famine to feast this week in respect to getting out of the house - spending only 1 full day at home. I've found a very cheap Co-Working space locally so when I'm back from holiday I will look into that further. Having said that it might not be worth me doing anything about it until Autumn as there will be advantages in being based at home during the summer holidays when my son is off school.
An averagely decent week earning wise. Found out the rates of pay for my Associate Coach job (I'd applied without knowing the them :rotfl:) and they are MUCH higher than I'd expected - more than twice as much as my current highest paying client !! I was really quite giddy when I found out !! Haven't had any clients through from them yet but it's early days. A lovely friend referred a new client to me for my private practice.
Next week is a lot more home-based which is good as I can then really knuckle down to do some prep for the workshops I have planned for the following two weeks.
Have a great week:):)

Hi Somerandom
I've just read through your thread and found it really inspiring as I'm wondering about making a leap sometime soon too. Thanks for sharing, it's really helpful to see how the switch can work for real!

Hi Rosa thanks for posting. I'm glad that you've found my diary useful. I was terrified before I took the leap (& for a while after I did it too
) but I'm so pleased I made the move. Good Luck with your Leap

Hiya
Great news about the rates for your new associate work - let's hope you get some referrals soon.
Sounds like a great idea to share some workspace and time with another person. It would certainly stop you feeling housebound and you might find it good to have the odd cuppa and chat as well. I can see that it's probably best left until after the long holidays though, as that might present another problem with child-care.
I'm so pleased for you that it all seems to be going well and you certainly sound very positive and upbeat about everything. Hope you have a marvellous May

Good Morning ! It's nice & bright here today - hope the same is true of wherever you are. I've been up for hours getting my son ready for a Geography field trip. I've just waved him off - I could do with going back to bed but I'm coaching someone at 10 so it doesn't seem worth it. A nap may be in order later.
Last week was pretty much a "business as usual" kind of week. It's gratifying that even on that kind of week I'm making almost as much as I did when I was working. Last week was my last quiet week before I go on holiday at the end of May (half-term) so I knew I had to get a lot of things organised in preparation for a busy couple of weeks. I struggled to focus on my preparation for most of the week then a couple of days ago - things started to come together & I feel a lot more optimistic about getting everything done that I need to.
Next week I have a lot of things that are outside the norm and consequently I'm feeling a little apprehensive about it! I'm Co-presenting a workshop on Tues eve to peers in the Coaching Community , then the next day I have to get up at around 5 am to get up to Town to attend an event linked to my new Associate Coach Role (was very excited when I saw myself described as "Executive Coach" on the Delegates list !!) I'm a bit concerned about the logistics of those 2 days (I do tend to worry more about getting somewhere on time than what I have to do when I get there :rotfl:) so I'm going to make sure that I get basics like clothes and food sorted today. The following day I have another evening event but at least I'll have some time at home beforehand to prepare. Oh & on top of that I have 12 hours of coaching - which is just as well as all the events are unpaid.
I'm very grateful that things are going so well and that I'm busy rather than sitting round twiddling my thumbs. It's just sometimes it feels like I'm on being swept along on a really fast flowing river and it scares me a bit  - I want to learn to enjoy the ride more. I think getting my own coaching is a priority for when I get back from holiday - I need something to replace my mentoring finishing
Writing this has been particularly therapeutic this week so thank you.
Have a wonderful week with just the right balance of being & doing for you :AShifting my energy for 20200 -
Sounds like you have a busy week next week. I am sure doing all those different things will really stretch you and be excellent experience. I just wanted to report back that I did the Moonwalk and loved it. I had actually been dreading it but I didn't feel tired at all and it was an amazing experience. I feel a bit flat now though and need to plan something else to look forward to.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930

Well done Clarey - congratulations  Yes, I remember that feeling afterwards - good to have something else to plan towards
I feel like it'd be good for me to have a physical challenge like that again.

Well I'm on the other side of my busy week. I was shattered yesterday but fine today. Guess I was apprehensive because not only was I busy but all the events were "firsts". They all went well. I felt very calm during the workshop - it was lovely to Co-Lead - really felt my co-facilitator had my back (& vice versa). The events with the new organisation were great - what a lovely bunch of people and I met the founder who is very inspiring. I am so pleased to be working for them and feel really in touch with their vision and values. Fingers crossed that I start getting some clients through as a result of the networking.
It's funny isn't it how things can feel so overwhelming sometimes but you cope and when you look back it seems no big deal. It's also funny that I know this, understand the psychology behind it , coach people on it but still get things out of proportion myself sometimes. :rotfl: Guess that's just part of being human
Next week I have just one major event (on top of my regular Coaching)- I'm feeling positive about it because its something I've done before and its working with the sector I've worked in for years so I should feel at home. Then I need to start preparing for my holiday (I fly out next Sunday :j)
Have an amazing weekShifting my energy for 20200
