    :easter_ba HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE :easter_ba
What a difference a week makes - I'm so much happier than this time last week. Passing my Coaching Exam really gave me a boost. The exam was the main focus of the week - it took up so much energy - preparing for it, the adrenaline required to get through it then .....the aftermath!!! - celebration & exhaustion !!! I'm so happy with the outcome - it was all worthwhile. :)

The rest of the week was moderately busy work-wise combined with an unusually high amount (for me) of social activity. Not a typical week. Enjoyable but I'm looking forward to a day at home which I will get tomorrow - going to visit a sick friend today

Next week is reasonably busy - nothing out of the ordinary - just a fair amount of Coaching all from home. DS (15) is around from Thurs onwards due to school holidays - He'll be revising / I'll be working but I hope to get some quality time with him - whether he wants it or not :rotfl:

    Have a lovely week....

Happy Sunday! It's lovely and bright here today - hope the same is true of wherever you are.

Last week marked 6 full months of self employment. I did the sums and my turnover over for that period was more than I would have earned in my old job by about £2,000. I'd been feeling a little bit discontent prior to working that out and I could feel myself slipping into a "scarcity mindset". Seeing it on a spreadsheet like that was a real boost and it's made me feel a lot more relaxed again - to the extent that I've booked a holiday for me & my son for the May half-term. :j

I've applied to be an Associate Coach with an organisation I admire - I imagine that it'll be highly competitive but who knows? I also turned down the opportunity to become a licencee with another company because the deal & timing didn't work for me and I wrote an official resignation to the company who'd stopped sending me clients - I didn't want it remaining unresolved.

I feel that after six months trading I need to up my game. For me this means writing out to all the contacts from my previous career to tell them what I'm doing now in the hope that they may need to use my services. I also want to create my own "product" - some kind of workshop or training - that I can sell. This will require a bit more thought - maybe something to think about while I'm on holiday. I was due to have a final session with my Mentor next months but I've asked if she could keep me on for a further few months to support me with this. Fingers crossed.

Next week - I'm busy enough to pay the bills but a couple of clear days which I'm going to use to catch up with domestics and spend time with my son. I've also got a couple of nice low key social events planned.

    Have a great week :)

    Hi Somerandom

I've just discovered your diary and caught up! I know it is on your signature but I tend to go on the forum on my phone and it doesn't show signatures. You have done brilliantly with making the move to being self employed. I think its harder on your own as you don't have anyone else's salary to fall back on, however you have the freedom to do what you want.

Hi Clarey thanks for dropping by and for your lovely comments. I am pleased with the way things have been going - so far it's been better than I expected to be honest. Yes, you are absolutely right about the pros & cons of doing it alone. For a long time it was the reason I didn't take the leap - so glad I did it now. I do still have a nervous wobble from time to time but I just give myself a talking to & keep looking ahead.

    Weekly Update

It's been an unusual week in terms of work pattern. I came down with a cold towards the end of the week which wiped me out for a couple of days. Fortunately they coincided with a couple of days I'd kept clear, I'd planned to spend some "quality time" with my son those days so that didn't happen but as it turned out he wanted to spend the time revising for his GCSE mocks anyway! I'll make up for it when his exams are over. I ended up working for a few hours yesterday and today to fit some clients in.

Recently I've been feeling like I haven't been looking after myself as well as I might. I had a great chat with a friend yesterday and we've agreed to keep each other accountable for things like getting enough sleep, taking a proper lunch break & getting to the gym. I feel really positive about it - like I've pressed a "reset" button. I used to be so good at taking proper breaks when I was employed and encouraged my staff to do the same. I came to the realisation that I'm a better boss to other people than to myself so I put 45 mins for lunch every day in my Google calendar - made me feel so much better seeing it there. :A.

I've a reasonably busy coaching week next week - particularly Monday & Tuesday. It gets more manageable after that. I've been short-listed for the Associate Coach role I applied for and I've got an interview for that on Thurs - so I need to do a bit of preparation for that. I don't feel particularly nervous as to be frank I'm surprised I got short-listed so that in itself is a bonus!!

    Have a great week :)

    Hiya

I had a lovely holiday, but unfortunately came back with a chest infection and a cracked rib, which has somewhat curtailed my activities over the past couple of weeks. I haven't felt very good at all, though a bit better now I've cut down the pain-killers. I'm afraid I don't do being unwell/crocked very well at all !!

However - I'm trying to be more positive from this week going forward, and have a few things planned that I should be able to manage.

Get you though - letters after your name :T  :T So very well done and surely you deserve it. I also hope the interview goes well for you on Thursday and you get the work.

It's great to hear that not only are you sounding so much happier about how it's all going, positive and confident, but also that the financial side is going so well also.

All the best for the rest of April - and good luck to your son for his exams as well.
