Thanks Clarey - how are you doing?

    Update - Good Morning :)

Last week was quiet work-wise as expected, I managed to "hold my nerve" and enjoy it. Work-wise I had 6 paying clients and one I'm doing on the basis of a "skill-swap" - she does marketing - how handy is that? :j. Financially that's about as much as it takes to cover the bills. I met a couple of friends for lunch, drinks which was lovely - both of those meetings were semi-work related.

I've just finished reading a book called "The Happiness Project" (there's a website with lots of free resources including Podcasts) - it has inspired me to approach August and early September like project or adventure. Instead of worrying about work being quiet I've decided to luxuriate in the abundance of time :)

So this week I've been sunbathing, reading, doing a couple of online courses, gardening (well chopping things back & clearing really as I've neglected my garden horribly recently). It's been so wonderful to have some head space and some time to do simple things like potter about...

Next week: I have 8 clients booked in (all paying), a couple of virtual meetings, A day up Town to meet my BFF who is over from Germany. That's sounds quite busy - when am I going to fit in my pottering about?? :rotfl:

Have a wonderful week everyone :j:j:j

I'm good thanks Somerandom. Just got back from a week in the Lake District with some friends and DS which was lovely. However I'm feeling a bit flat now, so perhaps I need to read The Happiness Project.
Did your week go as well as hoped?

That sounds lovely Clarey - the Lake District is so beautiful. it's natural to feel a bit flat after you come back from your holidays and its a horrible feeling :( - yes, give the happiness project a try ... the author's intention was to "change her life without changing her life" - so it's all about small changes you can put into place in your everyday life that make a difference. I liked that about the book!

    Weekly Update

    Good Morning !

Last week ended up feeling really quite busy - Work-wise- 8 Coaching sessions & 2 virtual meetings.

I continued with my reclaiming of the garden - which was hard physical labour and hugely satisfying. This took up a lot of my spare time so my week felt productive rather than abundant time-wise.

I fitted in a week's worth of socialising into one day on Weds - morning meet up with a friend from out of town, lunch & an exhibition with BFF, then drinks with another friend in the eve. I even managed to fit in a coaching session by phone during the day.

I wasn't feeling 100% physically on Weds but pushed through, then pushed through Thurs as I'd made an arrangement with my neighbour for her to come help me in my garden (power tools were involved !!!). Consequently I've been wiped for the last few days - (think I might also have a slight bug) - I've spent a lot of the last couple of days resting and have woke up feeling brighter today which is a relief.

So next week - quieter (phew....) 6 coaching sessions booked (only 5 of which are paid) - it may be that this increases as there's a few clients I need to arrange sessions with... but looks to be a fairly low income week...

On Thurs I'm doing a course with my DS - it's about shooting business videos on your smart phone. I thought I would enlist his help and it will be nice for us to do something together... actually really looking forward to that.

    Have a lovely week :)

  • I thought I would update a little early as a) I'm going off to Spain on Tues :j b) I'm currently trying to stay out of the way of the man fixing my back fence & I don't quite know where to put myself ...

It always amuses to me to look at my last post to see how I think a week is going to be and compare it with how it turns out to be.

The week was again not as quiet as I'd thought - I coached 8 clients rather than the 6 I was expecting & received 4 new referrals which was great.

Unfortunately I've been distinctly under the weather - I've been plagued with sinus headaches for the last few days. I've woken up feeling better today though thankfully and hopefully a week by the Sea in Spain should help.

I did the video course with my son which was fun. It was eye opening for me to see how advanced his editing skills are (and he's entirely self- taught .). It was lovely to do something like that together and he was so helpful to me.

My big news is that I've been asked to be in a film The Charity I work for was approached by a film company who are making short films about Londoners - (their current series is about Londoners who help other Londoners) and they sent them in my direction. Initially I thought :eek::eek: - way outside my comfort zone!!! Then I remembered something I read in "The Happiness Project" book about "choosing the bigger life" so I said "yes"!!! So the week I get back from Spain I will be filmed and have a short film made about me which will be in a couple of indie cinemas & online.

Next week: Monday I have 2 coaching clients booked - then I'm off to Spain on Tues. I'm going alone and intend to work when I'm there (I'm looking at it as a very low-level trial run for my dream life). Work-wise I have 4 clients booked in for telephone coaching when I'm there. I intend to finish planning a Leadership course that I've written. And I want to do a recce for somewhere I could trial a coaching workshop next Spring. I also want to do some prep for the audition coming up in September. I'm factoring in lots of R&R time too of course. I'm officially excited - even more so than if it was simply a holiday :j.

I hope you all have a lovely week - my plan is to update next weekend as I will have wifi access - but if anything goes wrong with that I'll update on my return.

Sounds a lovely way to work. Do you stay in a house while you are over there or a hotel?

  • I stay in an apartment Clarey - normally the same one if I can - that way I can make the best use of the time I have there without having to figure out how things work, find local supermarket etc. I love that its all so familiar - makes me feel at home :)

Hola ! Updating from Spain. Hope you are all keeping well. I’ve been hearing how good the weather has been in the UK recently.

Feeling super-relaxed, happy & really well.

So I've been in Spain for 4 full days - I've Coached 4 people with another 4 scheduled for early next week. It’s gone smoothly - no problems so far - as easy as if I was in the UK (but much better as when I had a “no show” I just went for a swim instead :) )

It hit me after a day or so that I badly need to press the “pause” button on life so I have decided that other than doing the Coaching that I’ve committed to & a recce for somewhere to do the training next year I am unapologetically giving everything else a miss. I’ve got a feeling that a well timed pause will mean I will be more productive when I get back.

    Have a great week.
