Contact them and ask to switch you to the 'lite' tariff or order a new sim online.

You can also do this on a browser.

    https://www.mytescomobile.com/

To log on your Tesco PAYG page, enter your phone number when prompted. The system then sends you a text with a PIN that you input to the web page.

After gaining access there is an option to switch from standard Tesco PAYG to Tesco Lite PAYG.

4p is for 'tesco lite' tariff, not their 'standard' marketing gimmick "triple credit" with much higher charges for calls and texts.

Ye I was thinking I didn't ask for triple credit! but that was the only one they in the store. I will check out online to change it.

They don't seem to offer text bundles though. and my phone isn't 3g I don't think.
  • Someone above mentions that I could change my tesco tarriff to lite but it's not letting me. Apparently I'm set to 'high user' tarriff which doesn't sound good to me as a staunch penny pincher.

It's saying I recently changed my tarriff so I'm not allowed to change it. I don't know if I did that by accident or what since I recall fiddling around on the user area the other day but don't recall what I did.

So might I have to email them to sort it? or will than thing timeout eventually and let me change it?

I am only going to be using bundles anyhow but it would be nice to be on lite I guess if I accidentally go over or something.

With post office which Im trying this month you can buy just 5 quid topup and put it right into the bundle so there is not any credit left over so wondering if I'll be able to do the same with tescos.

Post office sent me a text today also saying that current bundle is going to be deprecated in march 2016.

    How occasional is occasional?
For two short calls in a year all SIMs are pretty much the same. The deciding factor is how long it lasts if inactive. For most providers it's 6 months - so make sure it's not shorter.

In terms or the cost, Three and Deligt Mobile are the best with 1-2-3p per Mb/text/minute. For Three you need a 3g-capable handset. Surprisingly, both have been posted at the very start of this thread.

Yes not sure why person above didn't just read the thread. They post on the thread with their own query yet didn't read it. :D
