Would some knowledgeable & kindly Welsh [or similarly more advanced culture] soul share what they use for getting rubbish into the bin?

As the bin bags we have are either the big black things (suboptimal for toting around the house) or the (again handle free) things sold as binliners? If a child empties, um, "sticky rubbish" [to pick a euphemism at random] into a Bag For Life I get a bit irate & for more goodwill peace on earth etc to stand a chance, I need to find something to chuck rubbish in that doesn't cause a ruckus.

    Please advise!?

Tidy Z roll of 40 carrier bag pedal bin liners is what Mamam mentioned, I've been praising them here on MSE for some time. We've found the thickness very good and loads better than normal pedal bin liners. A good substitute for the free carriers.

Available in Poundworld, Poundland and Savers (0.79p).

Huge thanks to all those who have steered me towards peace, wisdom, improved environmental friendliness & MSE principles.
Carrier bags on a roll, eh? Genius notion!

Because some people find it very inconvenient and aren't convinced by the endless chorus from nannying, authoritarian 'Greens'.

People complain and laws get changed. It's how democracies operate.

I think a repeat of an earlier post is in order.

However, you are right with your last sentence - people complain etc. - that's why we have:
    - the 5p per bag,
    - helmets for motorcyclist,
    - alcohols limits for drivers,
    - speed limits on motorways

    yep - 'nanny state'!

    Along with:
Council workers being able to read your emails
The most CCTV spied-on society in the world
Laws that have eroded freedom of speech
Moves to constrain freedom of the Press and FOI

But back to the carrier bags. A few clippings from sensational tabloids like the Mail (which led the campaign in favour of the ban) prove nothing, Ten years ago even FofE dismissed a carrier bag ban as gesture politics, which is precisely what it is.

There are genuine environmental issues that need addressing. Replacing the free plastic carrier bags dumped in landfill with bags bought in Poundland isn't among them.

What, so we only get to see your opinions?

That sounds remarkably familiar. Bullies down the ages...

No, it's just you have repeated the same information umpteen times in this thread, that why it's getting boring.

And personally you have never meet a real bully in your whole life, if you did you would crack.

So Mr know it all, can you tell me was who made the Netherlands bring into force a no free bag policy as from the 1 Jan. ( Don't forget folks to take a bag with you unless you want to pay...).

I don't think it was the Daily Mail as you always seem to spout on about it as the only paper you seem to read.

Well things are changing. Food waste is collected. Tins, plastic, paper and glass is recycled. Metals, garden waste and timbre and brick are collected and recycled.

My local area has a 60% recycling rate, (and going up!). How about yours?

Somehow a few bags from poundland are not going to bring the world to it's knees.;).

Thanks for the heads up on Savers as being even better value than the £ shops. I will be buying up a stock when I'm next near a branch.

You're allowed to take a trolley out of the store to your car, so why not take a basket to your car?
