Noticed several customers today weren't aware about the bag charges.
Where have they been for the past two and a half months??This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

But that bag would be the primary container, you are then not allowed another free bag at the till they way some English stores interpret the laws.0 -

England just complicates things. If you can afford a big grocery shop is the bag charge really too much of a hardship!? if not buy a rucksack and go daily don't do a big shop where you need loads of bags.. simples.
Scotland and Wales are very efficient and have it simple. Just look how Germany is run.. no messing about.0 -

"Go daily"?!
There speaks someone who has never struggled on a bus with small children in tow. Ideology trumps common sense and real life, once again.0 -
I have used carrier bags in supermarkets when I've picked up a few things. Since the 5p charge I have tried to remember to take my reusable bags more and keep them in the boot of the car.
Overall it's a positive change, we can't keep wasting resources. Maybe it's time for supermarket to think about excessive packaging on items as it's unnecessary and wasteful.:A0 -
Mum noticed Asda ran out of their bags for life
I popped into Sainsburys and they sold out of their 10p bags
On the local Spotted pages on Facebook someone wrote that Morrisons have sold out too.
Summary, people are still not learned the bag chargeThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

All the supermarkets you mentioned still have plenty of the plastic bags for life in my area.
The only exception is the 39p bag from Morrisons. Been out of stock for weeks. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
I ended up buying a bag for the first time since the charge
Had time to kill before beauty appointment so popped upstairs to browse the clothes in Debenhams and ended up buying a dress.
Neither of the bags I had with me were suitable and it was wet outside so I gave in.
Now however I have a designated "clean" bag which will be coming out with me in future!0 -

Keep rising the prices.. people will learn eventually0 -
I bought my first 5p bag on Christmas Eve, but it was worth it as I dodged the massive queues & paid for meat in the clothes department at Tesco. I'd got my own bag from Macmillan http://shop.macmillan.org.uk/macmillan-essentials.html but didn't want it contaminated.0
