            I'm only having my sisters children at my wedding and even then I don't think they'll be at the evening for long.

            Children at weddings seems to be such a touchy subject. We wanted to keep children to a minimal so said family children only, which included cousins children ( who I never see FYI) It'll end up being around 12 children which is fine. If all our guests brought their children it would have been about 40, which I would consider a nightmare!
Our wedding is being funded between ourselves, and both sets of parents so don't have that added complication.
It's a difficult subject for you, you don't want his family to make your decisions, but if it brings a bit of peace it might be worth the compromise.0
