    November suggestions.....

Tuesday 3rd. Melbourne horse races. If we go there, Hubert wants to enter the novice handicap and Igor and Chef will set up their infamous betting stall, plenty of scope for much nobbling, methinks.

November 5th. The world famous Ennessdee Towers Bonfire Night party. Hotdogs, jacket spuds, toffee apples, hot chocolate with marshmallows, all provided by the resident catering team, loads of fireworks, music and dancing too, if we could find a suitable band......

Just past mid November. The NSD gang road trip to la belle France in a variety of weird and wonderful vehicles ( think Wacky Races ) in order to get a huge consignment of Beaujolais Nouveau. After all, we have a celebration at the end of the month - St Andrew's Day, when we celebrate all things Scottish......

    Anybody got any more ideas?

Let me get my head round this, Igor, so I can make a full report to Captain marmite.......we got the right island and the right spot for the treasure.....but when you got to the treasure chest it was empty......apart from a hastily-scrawled note saying Dear Igor, I.O.U. sum trezzure......????

You mean some rotten scurvy dog got there before us and legged it with our sorry your treasure????'?

Who on earth could have done such a thing?

In Australia, the Melbourne Cup horse race is held annually on the first Tuesday in November.

3rd Thursday Beaujolais nouveau is released

Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November.

National Pomegranate Month in the United States

Feast Day of St. Martin of Tours (Sint Maarten in the Netherlands and Sankt Martin in Germany); this is celebrated with parades in which the children carry lanterns, which they continue to carry as they go from door to door singing traditional songs for candy, which tradition arises from the same roots as trick-or-treating on Halloween, when people used to go around collecting "soul cakes". The parades usually feature a man in the costume of a Roman centurion on a horse and end with a reenactment of the old legend of the Saint dividing his cloak to share it with a beggar.

A medley of all/some of them,so say start off in Melbourne (Hubert is keen to re-enact ''Priscilla,Queen of the Desert',Guy Fawkes Night with various yummy treats (toffee sprout anyone) and Igor playing the guy, then a little knocking back of the red stuff (good for the heart) and some whistle stop tours of lovely chateaux (Ennessdee Towers emergency refurbishment plan in action of course. We need a new sofa!),then St Martin of Tours (Cheffie dressed as a Roman with a funny accent on his trusty steed (Hubert, looking nervous in a big nappy and his favourite pigtail wig),then finally Igor in a kilt playing St Andrew and showing off his sexy knees as we dance and whirl to 'The dashing White Sergeant'?

    That's not too outrageous,is it?

Ben a bit quiet the lat few days, because they've been a bit spendy
Cinema on Saturday with dd, which I'd wanted to do the juniors screaming at £1.50 but it was sold out so full price it was, then cinema on Sunday for date night. Yesterday was buying carrot cake ingredients for ex dh bday, sadly the cake wasn't great which I put down to a rubbish recipe.
I'll try harder on more NSD this week, but for now my total is still 7
