Halifax: recurrent problem with address on bank statement
[Deleted User]
Hello,
I have this recurrent problem with Halifax.
Every time I change my address (and this morning was last time) the new address appears as changed correctly on the system (and I also had a printout today with a confirmation of the change of address) but when I log on the online portal, my old address is still there.
This is annoying as I have lost a lot of correspondence in the past due to this issue.
Today I asked the branch to send me some important documents home and I fear that they are going to send it to the wrong address.
Has anybody had a similar problem? Is it only me?
Thanks

I don't think you can change your address instantly online.

I did change it at the branch and I did have a written confirmation.
But the problem is solved. I logged in toady and my new address was there.

I had a similar situation with Halifax 5-6 years ago I had a saving account pass book with them and wanted to open a current account online. Had problems setting it up went into local branch to discover old and new addresses were on the system as if I was 2 separate people. Once I proved that I was the same person and information altered on the computer. I was accepted for the current account and Halifax junk mail started to be sent within 48hr.
I think all banks take 24hr - 1 week to update their system data.0
