(3) Having a campfire in the woods
(4) Coming home and getting sharing a warm bath after getting rained on.
(5) Having the day off work.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
Ollie your daughter sounds amazing :T I struggle sometimes with my lot but to cope with ALL that and on her own is incredible. Tell her that she is a complete :A from me please. So are you for being such a supportive Mum.
Blimus Our shameful secretive Big Brother website is here
Lovely to read everyone's pleasures and all the talk of elderflowers has got me into the mood to make some too, although I have to admit to Googling them just to check that they looked liked I thought they did IYSWIM
My five for today are:
1. Waking at 5am then realising that it was Saturday so no early get ups.
2. Reduced Philly cream cheese in a sandwich with sliced red peppers for lunch.
3. Making a flask of tea to take with me on the can shake instead of relying on Costa Coffee for a drink especially with their prices:eek:
4. Finished a good book last night.
5. The rain finally stopped here at about 4pm :T0 -
I haven't posted on here for ages and i had forgotten about the thread and how the OS can make us smile instead of frown in life.
Here are mine for today
Eating jacket potatoes defrosted from the freezer for the first time and enjoying how they looked when they came out of the oven all golden and crispy
Putting my wellies back on to walk the dog
Using string to tie my potatoes up which were flopping about with all the wind and rain
Writing down some more recipes off the OS board to try later this month
Sorting my clothes out to a useable state and getting rid of the ones I will never wear (just about to do this!)final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Here are mine:
1) Not having to cook tea tonight as we're off to a party
2) Getting the invitations and a few more things sorted for the wedding
3) Having a nice leisurely look around town for bargains, and walking away from most of themDon't need, don't buy - that must be my mantra
4) Waking up naturally. I am so in need of a break!
5) I'm sure there's a fifth. Probably sharing recipes with my friendsContinually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
HI all, Hope everyone's having a good weekend, despite the weather
OS pleasures today......
1. As someone else has said earlier.... not having to worry about watering the veggies, the rain did it for us!
2. Plans for going to the zoo fell through, so took DD swimming, cheap and cheerful and we all enjoyed ourselves.
3. Went to visit my Mom and Dad, had a nice cuppa and a cream cake
4. Managed to talk to a friend earlier whos feeling a bit down and cheered him up with a few jokes
5. Using a bit of the money we've saved through one thing or another this week to buy a couple of bottles of vino for me and the other half to share this evening. Looking forward to a nice long bath and a cuddle up to watch telly.
6. Having sorted all my clothes out yesterday, was amazed how much easier it was this morning to find something "decent" to wear!
7. Went to the local butchers instead of Mr. T et al and bought a nice joint of pork for dinner tomorrow...nom nom
EmMarriages are made in heaven, but then again so is thunder and lightning!!!.....getting divorced lol :j

Hello again everyone, I've been reading and lurking but feel the lovely urge to post:
1. DD came back this morning from her first every sleepover at a friend's without me and gave me lots of lovely cuddles - and had had a fantastic time
2. DD just coming over to my sofa (we have 2, one each - very decadent, lol) to give me a MASSIVE cuddle and said Mummy I adore you
3. Taking DD to a birthday party at our neighbours and enjoying the relaxing and fun time with lots of children
4. Popping over to see a lovely friend who lives close by and putting the world to rights.
5. Realising that whilst I was silly and ate bad food yesterday (I'm on a VLCD so it was very naughty...), the fact I have felt a bit ill and uncomfortable most of the day has helped me as it's focussing my mind on the need to live a better, healthier, more natural life later on. Probably doesn't make much sense, but I'm feeling stronger and more in control of my life now!
6. Having my 4th NSD of the month - I picked up some bits in L*dls earlier on then thought more rationally, I was only going to buy them because they were cheap rather than because we actually need them! With the dire state of my finances at the moment, I am really analysing every penny spent and it's good0 -
Good evening/morning! Just in from my short hol and had to drop by to recount my latest blessings...
1. Had a wonderful week away with DM, we laughed a lot together, acted like 8 y/o's, and didn't want to come home
2. Didn't spend too much money , just replenished my wardrobe and shoe store with 'necessities' at the market in Rye and the shopping centre in Hastings
3. Really enjoyed the English countryside and coast, we were so fortunate with the weather but the rain does make for a very green and pleasant land :T
4. Came back to a reasonably clean house, my young lodger did his best (including mowing the lawn), and there were no fires
5. Suitcase is unpacked, the first load of laundry is in, the cats are purring contentedly and in the morning I'm going to DD to collect my dog - all is well with my world, as I hope it is with yours:A
Night night God bless and sweet dreams

Olliebeak - your daughter really seems to be having a tough time at the moment, but seems to cope really well, no doubt partly due to her support from you.
BigMummaF - sounds like you had a stressful day but all worked out well in the end.
Reverbe - still can't get over the amount of freebies you manage to get. Well done. Wish I could get half of what you do.
Sunnygirl - I woke at 5.30 yesterday but couldn't get back sleep so was really tired last night.
Emmie1234 - hope you enjoyed your vino. I always shop at the local butcher and fishmonger now as I find they are cheaper, much better quality and I love supporting the local shops.
Sparrer - glad you had a good holiday.
Welcome back to old posters and welcome to anyone new too.
1. Yesterday, managing to sort the airing cupboard and having a pile of sheets that I will pass on to a homeless charity.
2. Going for a walk in the rain with DH in the afternoon as it was obvious it wasn't going to stop raining.
3. OH getting his hair cut before we go on holiday and the barber only charging him £4.50 as "there wasn't much to do". Think that was the barbers way of saying DH hasn't got much hair left anyway.
4. Waking very early again but managing to get back to sleep until 7am. Why oh why can't I be so wide awake on a work day?
5. A bright sunny day here at the moment.0 -
Hi all
Thank you for welcoming me back!
My pleasures for yesterday:
1 - A full day with DH, always wonderful but even greaterafter so much missing each other.
2 - Breakfast in bed courtesy of DH (Porridge wth honey and nuts)
3 - 2 people eat for £10 bargain at M&S, actually we make 3 or 4 people eat out of their offer, just adding a few store cupboard staples!
4 - Opera with DH (in ENGLISH LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!) at the ENO, Cosi` fan Tutte by Mozart, cheap tickets and decent seats. Funny story, totally implausible (but a bit too long drawn) and of course great music. Wore my fancy designer dress and felt like a movie star!
5 - Instead of dining out we saved a lot of money (and calories!) by going back home and having a snack dinner there, I had soft boiled egg on toast and felt very virtuous, both on OS and health matters!
Will be back for my today pleasures, the day looks good already!
Have a nice Sunday everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
