Saturday/Sunday 19th/20th September - What small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!
So be proud of those small steps, they really important!:money:
Morning  been up a ridiculously long time (woke up at 4 ) so thought I'd get us started.
Thanks everyone for good wishes yesterday. I did speak to my dd and she is ok
seems like she might be starting to settle.
Not much planned for today spending wise so am hoping for a NSD.
small things to do today:
* hang out washing on line and do another load to get that out too - weather forecast looks promising :T
* check banking - not that there'll be any change!
* update spending challenge thread and declare spends
* all meals from stores
* check meal plan in case I need to get something out of the freezer
* meeting up with bff & gs for a play date this afternoon
* might walk to the local library and get dgd some books
Ok dgd desperately wants some attention right now so that will have to do for now!
Have a great day everyone x

Good moaning all
Up and at em with all the bounce of an 80 year old this morning. Currently trying to rustle up the strength to raise my coffee cup...oh it's not that bad but you know those days.
I have done lunch boxes for the boys since I was up anyway, let my OH have a small lie in.
Won't have much time to spend anything today which will be money saving in itself. But we are low on groceries so may need to grab something on the way home tonight.
Hope everyone has a good day.

- send books I'm selling off at post office (worth £20)
- send iPad for recycling with O2 (worth £23)
- pick up some essentials from the tesco value range and check jack fultons / heron foods for bargains.
- stay in tonight and watch a movie with the OH.
- lunch tomorrow with a friend, we are going to la tasca as I have £30 of tesco clubcard vouchers to spend there so should be free if we stick to water!
- tidy the house this afternoon

Morning everyone
Lovely and sunny here. Nothing at all planned for the weekend so no need to spend anything!
Today I have:
Ordered Sim cards for myself and DS from BT mobile. Its a good deal so should save us some pennies.
Whizzed round with the carpet sweeper (no electric and a little workout while I am doing it).
Mealplanned. Need to stretch the grocery budget. Finances look OK.
Got the washing machine going. Hoping to get some washing dry outside today.
Off to get dressed and make a start. Dont feel very motivated to do anything at the moment but the patio is a mess and its a good day to sort it.
Oh and we need to be looking at winter coats for DS1. Wish he would stop growing.0 -
Good morning everyone
thank you DNMS for starting today
how do you get up so early!! I've got work today and had to force myself out of bed this morning lol
Bob - thank youtbh I don't really know much either it's good that it's very mild though so hopefully he will get better quicker
hoping you have a nice busy weekend at the cafe
Ally - wow thats really good news
YorkshireLass - We're moving somewhere with oil heating, I've heard mixed opinions on it though. At our current house we have storage heaters which are expensive to run and you can't just turn them on when it's coldhow have you got on with the oil heating?
Twiggy - How do you find circits, they do it at my gym, I'm tempted to go but not sure if I would like it!! haha
Quick update on toothache, it was my wisdom teeth coming though so on antibiotics for that (hoping that will work) a bit annoyed though as dentist did precription as private so I had to pay £5 when I normally get it on my PPC!! Grr!!
Finally got a date on Thur for my implant removal (unfortunately she didn't have time to do it them) the 8th of October
We've also got our moving date, this Wed, got a few people looking at current house next week so hoping it goes quick so I don't have to pay all of Oct's rent!!
So here is what I've done/going to do this weekend:
- Water at work Sat
- Breakfast from stores
- Lunch at work (try to keep to just a meal deal) (may have got a choccie bar too!!)
- Pack for move next week
- Make a list of people I need to tell about address change
- Phone/email people about address change
- No make up at work(don't like doing this but just realised it's saved me a bit of money)
- Email/phone Abbotts about "rent overdue" letter (not even with them anymore, the property is with another EA!!!!)
- Take old tablet to CEX and trade it in
- List some bits on EBay that need going
- Try and find someone that will let me borrow their van for the move or find someone that will rent a van cheap
Think thats about it for now, have a good weekend everyone!!Read my diaryHere0 -
