Just a thought , you don't have to access the orange site via your dialup account , use your broadband connection to get there.

No can not make connection to Freeserve account on dial up and my BB - Virgin won't allow sending of emails on any other ISP's accounts

What you need in this situation is this FREE SMPT server - very useful program:

I think the dial up will at this stage only help in maintaining keeping your account but since your account has been deactivated completely looks like your only option is getting it reactivated is by getting in touch with Orange which you have done so I guess you'll just have to wait until they reply or try phoning them instead.

I've had the same problem and phoned them using the service on http://www.saynoto0870.com/ to avoid the premium rate number.

The response I got was a very unhelpful "your account has been deleted and there is nothing we'll do about it"

It looks like they're deleting all the freeserve email accounts without warning anyone!!

Fortunately I use Outlook Express at home so all my emails are backed up on my computer, but I've lost all emails I've been sent in the past 10 days since I've been away and haven't checked them in that time.

If anyone knows of a way to retrieve these emails please let me know, but I suspect it's a lost cause.

Would have been nice if they'd warned us so we could put an automatic reply on the account to let anyone who emails us know that they should use an alternative email address.

Sorry to borrow this thread - but does this go for fsmail.net accounts as well as that's done through the Orange website?

I have a few freeserve accounts I just dialup every now and then while my broadband connection is still active, yes thats right I then have two net connections at the same time.

I like the freeserve accounts because anything before the @ works, so if say you were buying something from amazon you would give them the email address amazon@YOURACCOUNT.freeserve.co.uk, then I make a rule in IE and they all drop into their own box.

Did you abide by the T&C, i.e. dialed in every now and then.
