Thanks ATB. :) I don't object to Hawaii itself (went there on a school trip in 5th grade and loved it), just the need (and expense) to go now and the lack of flexibility to do what we'd like to do while we're there. As you say, though, we may be pleasantly surprised, I suppose by both the climate and the company. ;) I do hope March won't be too hot, I think it's still pretty pleasant that time of year.

Anything above about 22 these days seems too hot, haha. (I have fully assimilated the UK climate.) Still, with a breeze even high 20s isn't too bad. :)

A day early, but no more OPs planned anyway.

    October OPs: £6,923.64
    October Offset Savings: £0.00

    Current (offset) balance: £124,999.99
Month we’d be in to get to our current balance without OPs: March 2025 (+12 months!)

    2016 Overpayments: £21,446.23
    2016 Offset Savings: £5,101.99
    2016 Interest Saved: £23,601.57

    Total Overpayments/Offsets: £46,561.23
    Total Interest Saved: £52,062.51

    Daily Interest: £9.05 (down £0.07)
    Monthly Interest: £268.26 (down £13.52)
    October 2015 Interest: £594.05 (down £325.79)
    October 2015 Daily Interest: £19.16 (down £10.11)

    House Bricks: +8 :j

    Mortgage reduction: £36,668/£43,000 (85%) (Average: £3,666.89/mo)

Made it into the 124s! Also unofficially upping the target to £43k - this will be a slight stretch above our regular OPs, so still something to work towards.

    Stocks & shares ISA: £1,000/£1,200 (83%)

    No change

    Net worth increase: £78,449.36/£65,559.14 (119%)

More stock market gains, plus DH’s work bonus.

    MFIT-4: £34,500.01/£90,000 (38%)

    13% ahead of schedule!

Thanks! Wish they were more dismal as that would mean we'd be financially better off. Still, 5% interest for a year was good for that year, so at least we got that. (Still have DH's account with £2,500 earning until June 2017 as well.)
  • I just look at your figures and think . . . . . . . . WOW :j - if only . . . . . it's all about balance.

Well done :A, and you have reminded me I must get the paper and pens out and draw myself a house with bricks :D

Thanks AFK! I sometimes think WOW myself, haha. It's amazing what dedicated focus has done for the mortgage balance. I'm not going overboard (unlike my DFW days I don't analyse every spend with "should this go to debt instead?" guilt), but it is nice to see the progress.

Flip side is that we've cut back on our pension contributions, and are paying a bit more tax as a result, but I think for the short term it's a fair trade-off.

Just keep your eye on the pension, you don't want to forget its just short term.

Have you noticed your figures and mine (thats Posts and Thanks lol) are at a parallel (almost) what's the chances of that happening? at the same time. Pity o/p's are not on the same par :rotfl: totally envious :p your o/p for Oct is more than 6 months of my salary :( Now you know why I think WOW :T
