but a lack in charging stations.

Our nearest charging station is right on the usable range of most EVs. Would hate to get there - over 90 minutes away - only to discover that it's not working.

Or to put it another way, if I bought one at our nearest Renault / Nissan main dealer, I'd need to also buy a car transporter if I ever wanted to get it home. Good job servicing isn't needed - having to tow it in every time you needed an oil change would be a pain.

Given the number of feathered windfarms we have up here - with billions in constraint payments being made to sit still, it would be good to see all that spare capacity being put to something useful like charging points.

From my 2012 Citroen C1, I get 235-240 miles on £20 of Tesco petrol. All my journeys are short, 2.3 miles to work and 4 miles to daughter's school.
On a run to Wales I averaged 86mpg over the whole journey measured from full tank to full tank, I was well impressed with this run, I did stick with the trucks/coaches as I had plenty of time and just wanted to see what I could get on a long run.

On top of do people really put in less than 4 gallons from empty?

I often put £10 - to tide me over till I pass the tesco garage, I did it today actually.

    I get 30 mpg - 4x4

I hope that's not while you're still sitting at the pump, while other drivers that've already been waiting 10 minutes are expecting you to pull away within 30 seconds of getting in your car!

Where i usually go to get fuel there is rarely anyone waiting behind me and i haven't had anyone waiting this year!. But on the rare occasion i use a busy fuel station i use the pay at pump and get a receipt and reset my trip computer which takes a few seconds. So i'm alot faster than people who walk into the shop to pay and i can put all the information into the app from the receipt :).
