I never get round to measuring it. I've always intended to. I write the mileage on the back of every receipt and toss it into the glove box .... then you end up with a couple of times when you've just put in £10 and not got a receipt, or not got a pen ... and still you never get round to it.

    I always guesstimate that I get 10 miles/litre, (45mpg) so at £1.20/litre that's 12p/mile. So that'd mean £20 would get me 166 miles.

But who knows....I don't even know how much fuel costs this week/month.
  • Around 180 for £20.

Although i usually put about £50 and it lasts me a week and a half going from Wales to Liverpool twice a day, 5 days a week. Plus the weekend.

I've done 2K miles in my Zoe, so far it's cost me £9, thanks to free charging stations.

Under normal circumstances, however, £20 of electricity at my supplier's normal unit price would get me ~750miles (assuming 100% efficient charging).

    So call it 650 miles/£20.

I've got a Nissan Leaf - Basically a bigger version of the Zoe.

There was a 'heated' discussion around the pro/cons of electric cars versus petrol cars, buying new versus buying used etc....But which ever way you do the numbers, you cannot deny the fact these car cost very very little money to run when it comes to 'fuel' cost and servicing costs (no oil/filters to change, and brakes last a long time due to the way the electric motor is used to slow the car down ather than the brakes).
  • My Honda Jazz has a mpg indicator albeit an average since last reset on the trip meter. At present that is showing about 48mpg - which is mostly on commuting. The first year I had it I recorded every fuel fill and every mileage reading on that date and it shows the indicator is pretty reasonable at estimating. So on that basis I'd get around 225 miles for £20.

  • £20 can get me 18.7 litres of diesel, Tesco near me has it for £1.069 a litre currently.

I tend to do a lot of motorway miles with few if any miles around town, so I would expect to get ~260 miles from £20 of diesel at current prices. That's around 63 MPG.

I use the app "FuelLog" and always fill my car to full everytime i put in diesel so i just input the amount price and mileage and it works it all out for me. My car is a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra Diesel and the app calculates that £20 gives me 237.53 miles which i think it pretty good!
  • I get around 120 miles with £20 diesel on my 2.0 TDI. This is mostly city driving.
