how many trolls does it take to change a lightbulb

someone asked for advice, and got it.

They needed a bulb at 10pm on Sunday, the obvious place to try would be a 24 hr petrol station. If they want a bulb during the day, there are unlimited options, and if they are unable to fit it, there are also numerous places to help them

There are no details of the car, so all this speculation about removing bumpers or not being able to find or fit a bulb at the side of the road is hot air.

how come you don't include yourself in that list of know all self righteous highhorses, someone who decided to tell everyone giving sensible advice to jog on.

you don't even know what car it is, you have no idea if it is simple to fit or not, you have no idea if the local petrol station sells them or not, and didn't appear to read the question properly, so have added nothing. Take it to a garage is really scraping the barrel of useful advice.

Given the number of people who drive about with only their parking/side lights on, I don't think that driving with one headlight out until you get a bulb is really going to cause any issue, as you still have the sidelights on both sides.

not at all, your hypocrisy is most amusing. Try reading the thread properly before jumping in head first.

    I have no cronies.

if my bulb went, I would go get one from the garage and fit it before setting off on a 2hr journey (in the dark), only a fool would consider that pompous advice, and a rude one at that.

If they didn't have one in stock, guess what, I'd find someone that did.

If I needed a screwdriver, I would find, borrow, or buy one.

If I couldn't fit it myself, I would get someone else to do it.

Do people really need to be told these basic instructions?

    You've added nothing but pomposity.

The police don't stop anyone around here using fog lights are they cant be bothered by the looks of it . So I wouldnt worry
Does the OP, or the OP's girlfriend, live near you then? ;)

Anyway, no-one seems to have asked about the OP's girlfriend's membership of any motoring organisation.

If a motorist is incapable of performing the simplest diy job on their car, they should seriously consider joining one of those bodies.

and for the umpteenth time, nor do you, so why do you feel the need to make out you are some kind of godly hand holding saviour to the lightbulb changers of this world

read the thread properly, the only person giving definitive advice (a day late) is you, you've decided the garage doesn't stock them, and the op is incapable, anyone suggesting diy is pompous. What YOU would do is take it to a garage, mindblowing insight, bet the op couldn't think of that one before you joined in
