If one headlight has gone and doing a 2 hour drive at night is it better to put my fog lights on as well or simply just drive with the one headlight and of course sidelights?
(not possible to get a headlight replacement now)
No, it's better to replace the bulb, thereby not breaking the law and !!!!ing off other motorists.0 -
didnt know petrol stations did! It's for the gf so will let her know0

Thats not my experience.
You can buy tea, coffee, cereal and just about any food, but a headlight bulb? Not a chance0 -

Today (Sunday) I got a H7 bulb from the local forecourt, £6 though
It wasn't even for the dipped beam it was for the static cornering light.
That said not all headlight bulbs are easy to change at the roadside.0 -
For all of the complaints about them, correctly adjusted front fogs won't dazzle because their cut-offs are as flat, and even lower (due to the height of the light unit) than low beam. They won't give you any useful light because of their low aim, but they will at least mark both corners of the car and make it clear it's not a motorbike.
That said, by far the best is to get a bulb fitted.0 -

Just looked at the gfs model and it requires screwdrivers etc to change the bulb! so not able to do that at roadside!0
