  • Completely blown the budget £517! I have no idea how this has gone so badly wrong. Will probably give up this year and start in Jan with the £400 budget again. Facing job cuts at my work now so may need to start belt tightening in the new year. OH has promised not to go mad on food over christmas as he usually does so I wont stress about it...

Sorry I haven't officially signed up this month, but I am so busy with real life that online leisurely jaunts are at a minimum right now.

Anyways, I have managed to keep to 271.84 so far, and that's normally with a target of £280 -300, so I am pleased with that, as got loads in and hardly any time to eat it or cook it. Hopefully work will go back to "normal"after Christmas and I can get back to doing things as I wish. I probably won't be posting much next month either but will try and get on at least to read how everyone is doing. So good luck all, and best wishes for the 25th and the rest of the remaining year.

I will officially rejoin you all in the Ny.
Sorry you're under pressure atm and hope it soon eases off a bit for you. Hope to 'see' you soon

Maybe you'll have time to sit down with your receipts and have a run over them to see where you are spending more than you want. It's easy to overspend if you're not watching the pennies. I'm sure you'll get it sorted :D

Had another NSD today but need a few bits and pieces the morrow such as bread and fruit.

My darling DS arrives the morrow for a few days :j Must admit I've bought a few 'spoilies' for him but don't see him that often and love him to bits. He lives in Ibiza and there are a few things he misses so they are now in the fridge and cupboard ;)

Might be missing for a few days but hope you all have a super weekend

Only £35 of my budget left to cover today and tomorrow as my December starts on Monday. We do not need to buy anything for meals this weekend.

I would have had a bit more left but DH was on a course this week and had lunch in a caf! every day as there were no other facilities available and was with colleagues so didn't want to be the only one taking a packed lunch.

I have defrosted a curry I made earlier this week for tonight's dinner and have a loaf of GF bread in the bread maker.

I have a lot of eggs to use up so we will be having an omelette for lunch and I really fancy toad in the hole for tomorrow with mash and lots of gravy. I can use up a swede for mash and some kale too:)

DS complained I never make pudding last weekend so I will make some little lemon puddings and custard for desert. We will need a cake for next weekend when we have a big race so I will make it when the oven is on for the toad on Sunday and freeze it.

I will pop over to December with my budget when I have worked it out as I want to reduce what I have spent this month but include a little extra for Christmas.

Small shop this week as really didn't need anything except fresh stuff. Have now spent £135.11 out of a £250 budget so will be putting a fair amount into savings. :T am not declaring just yet though as couple of days to go.
HM lasagne for tonight that has been in the freezer a couple of months, will have some salad and garlic bread with it. Tomorrow we just having mince beef with mashed potatoes and veg - not had this for a while and just fancy it. There are some Yorkshire's in the freezer if any one wants them.
    MARCH £62.38/250

I know I have gone over a bit this month but we did have two meals for family gatherings which were lovely. But I know that if I hadn't been in the grocery ch then I would likely have spent more in the early part of the month.
Thinking of December now and bbrr there is rain battering against the window. Nice to be inside and cosy.
  • Now I am feeling less ill, I can confess that last week's budget has gone completely off. That being said, the big shop I did on my debit card has still not shown up on online banking, so the figure is still not confirmed. On the plus, that means there is still potential for it to not show up at all! Current estimate of about £65 total, although I've still got a fair bit in the fridge.

This week I needed a new ink cartridge for the printer, so gave myself £40. Currently at £33.21, and should be able to keep it at that barring a chocolate emergency tomorrow.

Overall month budget was £140, and I spent £145.62ish, so I think for the first real month of keeping to a budget that was pretty good.

If the fridge and freezer are full, I reckon you can! :T
Not quite that simple I'm afraid....most fridge supplies were veggies for a vat of soup I have yet to make :o , and have had family staying with me for a week. Have been surprisingly "creative" with the contents of my freezer and run it down nicely. Didn't stop me from venturing into Aldi late this afternoon and buying some dark chocolate digestive (don't ask!) for 51p, and some YS goodies from Sainsbos for £1.89, so enough to keep us going for a few days yet. As I have no plans to visit a supermarket tomorrow, I'm declaring a final total of £68.17 / £70. The GC has certainly made me think about how often I shop, and how much I spend, and on whom.

Next planned shop: Saturday 6th Dec 15 in Lidl.
