Wow Xspender - that's brilliant work! :money: I did a midweek roast yesterday evening from fridge and freezer. DS was really surprised and wolfed the lot! NSD again today and tomorrow should be one as well. I'll get my final (I hope) bits and bobs on Friday with my last £6.56.
Lynnejk - great tips! I'm getting quite obsessed with logging my spending now, so if I don't have a receipt, I use the memo function on my phone so I don't forget. Then I transfer it to my spreadsheet when I get home. Turning geeky here... and only my second month of the GC. I don't know if it will help but I've noticed that quite a few people lose or forget receipts.
£65.77 / £70 which leaves just £4.23 until close of play on Monday. My only real hope of keeping within budget this month is by staying out of supermarkets full stop.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Evening all :hello:
Managed another NSD here today which puts me at 16 :j
I have 'christened' my new rice cooker today.
The rice was a little 'al dente' and 'clumpy' though, but I followed the instructions exactly. I suppose it will depend on the rice I'm using won't it.
Should I increase the amount of water a little ?? Any advice would be good.
Hope you all have a super Thursday

Lynn - I think it's one of those thing which you perfect by trial and error. Definitely worth trying a little more water.
I do my rice in a pan on the stove by the steaming method and use 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. Boil for 7 minutes, stir once then leave to steam for about 20 minutes of so. Stir again, perfectly cooked rice.

Well, I think I know for certain now that £6.56 will not be enough to get me through until payday on Monday. For the best of reasons though - m'chap will be coming up early on Friday! :j:j:j Normally, his shift finishes at 11.00 pm on Friday, so it's usually about 1.00 am by the time he gets to me. However, he's taken the day off so that he can try and bag a cheap Xbox for his son (I can't think of a worse way to spend a day off, but it means he'll be able to afford one for him for Christmas). Then he'll travel up to me late afternoon. :TThis means that he'll be having dinner with me - therefore additional bits and bobs required. I'll be shopping from the freezer for steak (half-price from Ocado - super duper bargain), chips and onion rings, but I'll now need to buy salad and other trimmings, plus a spot more vino. I would have been having veggie bolognese with DS, but with the carnivore boyfriend arriving, the meat is too good to resist - and I think he would pass out if I gave him quorn! :rotfl:I had been trying to keep under the £200, but as the budget is still £300 for this month, I'll cut myself some slack in the interests of romance3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Thanks Lynne - been cleaning like a demon today (I mean working from home...:D) to continue the illusion of domestic goddessry that I'm able to perpetuate as he only comes up every other weekend:rotfl: . Made some scones late last night and just need to pop to Aldeee for the extras for dinner later. Picking up my new car in a bit, so will have to update my sig to include all the various debt I'll be taking on too. But at least it won't lose power down to 10 mph in the fast lane of the motorway like the one I'm putting in on scrappage  Very excited about m'chap arriving now - it will be a real treat.:j:j3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Sorry I haven't officially signed up this month, but I am so busy with real life that online leisurely jaunts are at a minimum right now.
Anyways, I have managed to keep to 271.84 so far, and that's normally with a target of £280 -300, so I am pleased with that, as got loads in and hardly any time to eat it or cook it. Hopefully work will go back to "normal"after Christmas and I can get back to doing things as I wish. I probably won't be posting much next month either but will try and get on at least to read how everyone is doing. So good luck all, and best wishes for the 25th and the rest of the remaining year.

Declaring a final November GC spend of £215.88/£300. :TI blame m'chap for going over the £200. If he hadn't have been coming up early tonight, I would never have caved in and bought olives and wine to go with dinner. His fault entirely. :rotfl:3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Declutter from 22.5.22: 105/250 Car finance PAID OFF £7,848.88 IN 2019 (0% LOB)0
