Is it just mes or does anyone else hate the packed shops, at this time of year?:@
I'm not that fond of shops at any time of the year, especially sms.

At this time of the year I find it totally horrific - especially when I see how much people are spending !! Not just on general things but especially food and drink

Has someone forgotten to tell me that all the shops are closed after 'C' day for a month :rotfl:

Managed to have another NSD today. Oh BTW - the chaps turned up with a freezer today only it was the wrong one

We are having HM beef chilli with cheesy jackets and avocado salsa - yummy !!

Hope you all have a thrifty Thursday

That's so true! You see people with one or sometimes even two trollies loaded up so high, you'd think they were shopping for six weeks, or are worried about the start of rationing :) I did the big Christmas sm shop in one go once (about twenty years ago) - never again.

  • I hate the food shop for Christmas too. We try and buy our stuff way ahead and use our local Booths which is still quiet on Christmas Eve and get our cheese and a few bargains late then

Another £27.69 spent today bring total so far to £107.55/£250. Have also had 10/20 NSDs.

Don't think I'm going to make my total for NSDs but looking good for grocery shopping.

  • Just wanted to post before going back and reading the whole thread. We are currently spending £130-140 a week here for 5 of us and 3 cats and usually have 3/4 takeaways a month too. Really need to cut this down but struggling as I've fussy eaters to contend with and I'm not good at cooking
Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T
  • Just updated my sig, £360 so far this month, and I want to get another £40 morrisons shop for the points! I know thats why the supermarkets do these points to get us in there but Im thinking I can stock up pre christmas. Have already bought wine and Baileys (which Ive already opened). I think we will be over budget this month after doing so well last month. I need to sit down with OH again...

Weekly shop done at ALdee this morning, it was lovely and quiet when I went at 10am:)

£58.76 spent which should be enough to last us 2 weeks with a top up of bread, fruit, veg, yogs and bits for DH SW.

I bought a lot of chicken, some turkey mince and a few ingredients to do a big batch cook up on Monday of SW meals for next week and the freezer as I am away with work a lot in the first 2 weeks of December which will save some money and keep DH on his SW plan.

I bought a hair dye at Aldee to try. I am off work next week so if it I a disaster I have time to put it right before anyone sees me!:rotfl:

My total stands at £315.73 out of a £400 budget. I cant see us needing to spend the £84.27 left in the next 8 days so there should be some leftover to pay to the mortgage:)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
