Have just added up this months spends and to date they are £43.07
Got a couple of things for Christmas lunch in this - stuffing, savoury crackers, sausage meat which has been frozen and some long life cream.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Thanks for your welcome back Coxy!
Doing quite well so far this month - have only spent £15.27. I only include food in the challenge, and so far have used a few things out of the cupboards, fridge and freezer.
Like a lot of you I'm sure, I often cook double quantities of a meal, and freeze half. So on those days when I'm tired or not feeling up to much, I can just grab my HM ready meal and heat it up.
This originally came about when my late DH went into a nursing home. I found cooking for one very hard at first, so by default would mostly end up with a meal big enough for two. I've been a widow for nearly four years now, but still find myself doing the same. But, it's a good thing to do - would'nt give commercial ready meals house room, as in my experience they don't taste of much, compared with good honest home-cooked food!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
Ouch expensive week this week, not quite sure why. Big shop in Sainsb at the weekend and bits and pieces ever since...
Have found meat stall in market doing huge packs of chicken breast fillets for £5/kg so might get one of those for the rest of the month, as we eat lots of them. Definitely back to A1di for fruit / veg / cheese / deli meat etc. I got their fishfingers for the kids a couple of weeks ago and they couldn't tell the difference from the normal brand (BirdsEye).
HM chilli with mince in freezer tonight I think.GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000 -

It's never too late to join in
NSD for me, normally pop to the supermarket on a thus for a bottle of wine and a treat dinner but resisted today and threw together a cupboard meal instead x0 -
Evening all and a warm welcome to new peoples and returners :hello:
Had another NSD today.
Will have a small order from Mr T tomorrow.
My freezer should finally be arriving on Saturday (I have been promised a phone call the morrow to confirm) - but again I'm not holding my breath.
Hope you all have a fabulous Friday

Ooh, thanks for the heads up candygirl. Perfect timing.
Like Lynne I'm due a new (to me) freezer, which I will hopefully pick up tonight. My housemate and I have been getting fed up with the lack of space in our tiny little freezer, but the world of batch cooking and buying cheap yellow stickers will soon open out before us!
I'm currently working on a weekly shopping budget. Last week was £30, and I spent £27.57. This week I'm working on £25 as I want £5 to go to the pub with!So far I have spent £5.85, but I plan on heading to Lidl today for some bits.
I'm still trying to work out all my budgets and what needs to go where to make sense to me.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)
