Hello , Im new to forums all together so bare with me lol . I would like to join a grocery challenge , shall I wait to start on first week of October ? There is 3 kids , 2 cats , 2 rabbits and myself and my husband in our house. We spend about £110 a week on groceries (not including prep for holidays eg .. halloweens sweets costumes ect.) Sometimes I include the pets bits in with shopping sometimes thats done seperate so I will leave them out of the challenge I guess. I would like to get my budget from £440 a month to £360 a month
thats to include cleaning and toiletries
.
Should I start now and run 25th to 25th or should I wait till the 1st ?0 -

Welcome to the forums debbidedodge1737.
You can choose to start and end your month whenever you want. I used to run my 22nd to 21st as this was when I got paid now I will be running mine calendar monthly now as my pay dates have changed. Whatever suits your budgeting best
Please can I go for £370 for October. This is to include food, pet food, OTC meds, cleaning, laundry and toiletries but not alcohol and will be a £20/week reduction on what we spent last month.
I haven't done this challenge in a long while and need to get back to basics as we want to ramp up our savings and clear a CC. Plans for this weekend are to sort out and list contents of freezer (not much in it really and some bits are past it), list the full pantry and meal plan for the next 2 weeks to start with.
Oh there are 2 adults, 1 5 yo child with a big appetite who only eats at home on weekends, 1 small dog and 3 fish. I'm GF and DH is doing SW and we are both trying to eat as healthy as possible and I do a fair bit of exercise.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

First shop for the month done on Wednesday. Spent £29.59 so far & hoping not to spend anything now until the end of next week. Might need to pickup some bread, milk & bananas but that's about itGrocery Challenge: January: /£2140

Hi, please can I join in starting today 25th September to 24th October for £300 .
I have been setting this as a target for a few months but after a second or third week find I have already gone over budget, so tend to give up.
But I am currently of work and on SSP, (getting better and hope to be back at work soon). So wage will be significantly reduced next month and need to get a handle on my spending now.
There is just me and hubby at home, but I still tend to cook for a family even though they left home years ago, so try to freeze half the meal, but never get it back out again except to throw in the bin as I never put a date on it.
So now I need to start some good habits, e.g only buy food that we are going to eat.

I'm in again this month. Still working on September totals and sadly think we went over budget but nevertheless I'm shaving a tenner off the total available to spend, so please can I set my target to £340? Two adults, two small children, two teenage stepkids, three giant dogs and six chickens. My budget is to include all items such as toiletries, dog and chicken food, treats, booze and Halloween goodies. We have a half term holiday when the skids will be with us  SS is a BIG eater!0
