I did a larger shop than I expected this evening, spending 22.30. There was an offer on, giving away a 9-pack of toilet rolls if you spent £20.
My budget is now very low for the rest of the month, but I've worked out that i have used £25 from my GC budget for toiletries and cleaning stuff, so I can dip into my separate cleaning stuff fund to compensate, if I really need to. All the cleaning stuff will last me into the New Year, I think.
I shouldn't need any more big shops this month, just milk and bread, and perhaps a bit of fresh veg. I'm going into a use-it-up mode now! I'll spend tomorrow night doing a bit of cooking, including a 5-portion chicken potato and spinach curry, and also some roast chicken thighs with some ageing parsnips, carrots, peppers and onions. The curry will probably mostly end up in the freezer, and the chicken thighs will be dinner/lunch over the next few days.
I hope everyone is having a good week so far!2025 goals

Yesterday was NSD so now standing at 7/20; could be a struggle to get to 20 for the month.

Popped into a bargain type store as I had run out of washing stuff. £9.39 spent on washing powder, fabric softner, bottled water for packed lunches and a couple of selection boxes for santa.
Really need to go to do a big freezer shop as I'm down to quorn and fish fingers in there :rotfl: Wonder if I can convince DH into taking me to Iceland as he has just walked in from work
Total updated.

I just did my shopping online with Asda , I will collect on school run in morning , It was a my big weekly shop and was £86.92. Im doing so good .. our old budget used to be 110 a week and I used to sometimes go over. I did not buy any meats this week as I have bought the 3 for 10 offer the past 2 weeks and have plenty still. Things like leaving the bottled water and using tap water
, oh and were I would use a tray of mince (large tray) for one meal I have been making two meals with it and bulking out with veg ... no one in house has even noticed , so portions are still good.
Oh and I also bought a ton of baking products (butter , sugar , flour , cherries , ect) with the shop as I would like to make my own treats for the 3 kids and also a pair of jeans for my youngest child as he keep going through the knees
Am about to update my totalthis is week 3 out of 4 (I started the challenge in sept

I bought a few bits today, wholemeal bread - but just bought the basics one this time for 40p, bottle of milk £1, couple of pizzas in the YS area to chuck in the freezer, a couple of pastry slice things which again were YS, some catherdral cheese snack pot things for work 75p for a 3 pack, again, in the YS area. So a few bargains that came to £6.50.
I bought a cheese stick in M+S for 45p on my lunchbreak, I really didn't need to though, but at least everything else I ate at work today was brought in from home for once!
Really hope I stick to my budget0 -
Nipped into F*rm F**ds for Quorn for my veggie child (bleurgh- at least it's very lean and low fat but don't like the taste much) and a loaf of bread. Shouldn't need anything until Friday now so need to keep out of the shops
Hope everyone's doing ok x0 -
Well dragged DH to the land of ice, and spent a MASSIVE £110.26!:eek::eek:
I got my park vouchers this week, hence the large spend. Got loads of stuff in, going away on Friday for the weekend so I should have 5 NSD now, apart from milk and potatoes which I forgot to get. Actually I should be able to do without potatoes till next week. Got plenty of treats in for my halloween party too, and lots of meat. My freezer is officially jam packed!

Also, if you just 'Google' something like 'Best vegetarian meals' you will find loads of sites and recipes.
There may be things you can make/customise and give to your son, whilst you can have a side portion with some meat. Does he eat fish ? Lots of meals there or again you can have fish with some of his veggie meal.
I used to do this with my son when he went veggie
We had another NSD today but might need a couple of bits the morrow like yoghurt.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday
